v0.2 Release Date and Punch List

In construction a punch list is a list of relatively minor tasks that all have to be finished up before the project is complete. I'm working through my own punch list now for v0.2 and knocking out all of the relatively minor tasks that need to be finished. Here's a look at the things that I'll be working on over the next couple of days:

1) A current serum effects page for other characters. This will let you check what serums a girl is currently affected by and how long it will last.

2) Better business feedback. I want reports of supply produced, used, serum counts produced, research finished, and so on displayed to the player at the end of each day. This should highlight production bottlenecks and make it more clear how much supply is needed to support your current production staff.

3) Render an orgasm face. I have the coding support in place, I just need to sit down and design/render one.

Just tonight I knocked out one other item that was on my list: stat gain/loss updates. Now when a girls happiness, obedience, sluttiness, etc. changes a popup will appear next to her for a moment then fade away. A similar popup comes up when you give a girl a dose of serum, letting you know what stats have been affected.

With all that in mind I think it's time I announce a release date for the patron version of v0.2! v0.2.0 will be released to $5 and up patrons for bug testing on the night of Feb 16th/morning of Feb 17th. A week later the bug fixed version v0.2.1 will be released to everyone absolutely free!

Yes, I'm glad someone out there shares my hate of obscure iconography! I actually think the civilization style "Word" (Symbol) layout is a good setup, it both teaches you what the symbol means when it has the space, and gets to just use symbols when words would crowd things out a little bit. For now anything that is important is spelled out fully.

I like the fadeaway stat change numbers. That's excellent visual feedback. Displays of all the relevant numbers are great too. One suggestion on that: Please do not give into the current UI trends and make custom icons for everything, use real live big boy words. We all use a lot of apps and devices in our daily lives, and having to memorize that some arbitrary shape which presumably meant something to somebody means "health" is a nuisance. Besides, the invention of the alphabet was a huge leap forward in human history, falling back to caveman-era pictographs is a step backwards. (But if aesthetics truly demand icons, please at least provide good hovertext or a help screen with everything labelled!)

#2 really highlights the benefit of publishing as you work. you can work in quality of life changes as the game moves forward instead of trying to hammer it out during the polishing phase (or early patches).
