v0.3.0 Release Date Announcement!
Added 2018-03-08 09:17:52 +0000 UTCLab Rats 2 v0.3.0 will be released to $5 patrons on Tuesday March 13th for bug testing!
The v0.3 update cycle has focused on refining and expanding the gameplay of Lab Rats 2. The main additions have been the new "crisis" system, which are random events that the player must resolve, and business policies which unlock new abilities for your company by spending cash. A number of policies and crises have been added already, and I'll be looking to add more before release.
In addition to the gameplay improvements, there have also been a number of changes to the rendering system for LR2. A major change in how images are shown has made it possible to dynamically recolour clothing. It will also make future image manipulation much easier. The existing library of clothing items has been greatly expanded by adding colour variations wherever possible.
Quality of life improvements and bug fixes will also be coming with v0.3.0. Outfits in the outfit creator will now show a preview of each clothing item when you mouse over it, and you can ask girls to wear a particular outfit from their wardrobe at any time. Happiness and Obedience gains from some events were inverted; this has been resolved.
I'm excited to get this update pushed out and show off the direction the gameplay for Lab Rats 2 will take!
