Lab Rats 2 v0.7.0 Release Date

After a few more days of work I'm almost done with everything on my list of things to do to call v0.7.0 finished, which means I can announce it's release date! v0.7.0 will be released in two days on the night of Tuesday July 17th! The two major additions to the game will be a reworked clothing/uniform system and a large number of new clothing items, including support for accessories like rings, bracelets, and more.

Tonight I also implemented some changes to how serum can be given out over the course of the game. Previously the Mandatory Serum Testing policy was required before a girl could be given serum, which made serum use (and thus corruption) impossible for the early part of the game. There are now several non-policy options, like slipping it to them stealthily in the style of Lab Rats 1 or relying on their obedience and simply demanding they do it for you. Each approach has a chance of success and penalty for failure that depends on different statistics. The mandatory testing policy now exists as a way to eliminate the chance of failure entirely as your business grows.

I was hoping to have some preview shots of some of the new accessories, but a mistake while setting up a batch of rendering resulted in 72 hours of lost time. The correct re-render will be ready for the release, and I will be adding even more items during the prototyping weekend leading up to v0.7.1.

They won't be coming with this update but they will be coming in future updates. I might see if I can find some good tattoo assets and set them up to render in the background during my prototyping week.

Ah, it seems that working past midnight has screwed up my date keeping again. The update will be released roughly 24 hours from now, the night of Tuesday 17th.

I was just thinking that how a girl reacts to complimenting/criticizing her work should vary on personality. People respond to those things differently based on personality, I think. So if you want to increase obedience, which option you should choose would be based on their personality. Just a thought.

as someone who worked at some point already i immediately thought of how wearing most accessories is against safety at workplace and that all my uniforms will need to exclude accessories for better immersion xD

Can't wait to see this in action. Really liking the concept of moving serum application out of the cheap "buy a perk and now everyone is dosed forever" and into the more challenging "Sneak in doses and hope you don't get caught" approach.

With lab rats 2 he has taken the bold, but awesome, step away from making a visual novel, into making a systemic game! You play the same character but at least right now there is no family. Patreon is making that difficult too!

Also, the 19th is not a Tuesday, but a Thursday. And in 2 nights, that would be the 17th, not the 19th. Unless you mean 2 nights.

Sooooo, I just finished Lab Rats 1 and wanted to know what's new in Lab Rats 2... Is it the same character? Or are we a completely different person? And who are the new characters? Do we see any old ones come back or is it all just new? And 1 last thing; does this character also have a family we can manipulate if it's not the same guy?
