Another Progress Update for v0.52
Added 2022-06-01 12:30:50 +0000 UTCHey everyone, I'm here to give you another progress update to keep you up to speed! This should be a short one, as all of my work has been on one task: Live2D model construction.
As of writing I have added 53 of the planned 121 clothing items to the basic stand Live2D model. I now have a good method for editing, meshing, and gluing items, and progress is speeding up as I go. A quick scan through the list of items still to go (I just finished adding "Lace_Sweater", for anyone wondering) suggests I'm past the most of the difficult shirts and dresses, although even those I've gotten comfortable with. At this point it's just a matter of putting in the hours of work - it's not particularly difficult, so I'll probably throw on a movie (or three. It's been a long time since I watched the LOTR trilogy.) and keep going.
Once all of the clothing items are added I can pull that fully finished model into LR2 and set up the clothing display and colouring logic. My earlier demos have all of that code basically figured out, so it should just be a matter of updating some item definitions and making sure it all works the way I expect. Then I can push out a demo to patrons to try out while I implement patterns, eye colour masks, and other details.
This update has torpedoed every time estimate I've tried to make, so I'm going to move to a "it's finished when it's finished" approach until I have an actual playable version of LR2 out the door. Until that happens I'll be making more frequent, shorter posts to keep you all updated on how progress is going, what issues I've been fixing, and overall just keep you in the loop.
That's all for now; I'll be back in a few days with more news!

Great to hear its proceeding along without any major setbacks at this point. Definitely want to say take the time needed to get it done as right as possible we can hold over as long as we hear from you and this doesn't turn into a 'three hour tour' so keep at it.

2022-06-02 22:16:51 +0000 UTCGreat to hear you've gotten to the point you can watch a movie while doing certain tedious work, as that's a sign of mastery. Also hopefully means that once clothing is wrapped up, it will be smooth sailing from here.

2022-06-01 20:15:20 +0000 UTCadd some pantyhose to the clothing if possible :)

2022-06-01 19:24:32 +0000 UTCYes. Piercings can easily be added as clothing items (and no longer require hundreds of renders, making them much more practical for me to actually implement). Tattoos will be possible (on a code level, at least) using the same pattern system that allows for clothing to have differently coloured regions, cutout sections, etc.

2022-06-01 15:14:30 +0000 UTCDoes this mean adding tattoos and piercings will be possible?
