I'd love to make more homebrew creatures with statblocks, so give me ideas for a homebrew theme and I'll make a new poll to choose from for December!

I agree! Centaurs, kenku, and tabaxi especailly would be cool so see in a non-combat role, it's especially hard to find tabaxi in anything just relaxing or doing NPC stuff. Loxodons just milling about too :-P While I really want to see crazy humanoids your suggestion is really good and useful too

Tortle barkeeper, Bugbear gravekeeper, Centaur seller, Genasi herbalist, Fairy shopkeeper, Harengon washer, Kenku fisher, Tabaxi scribe, Owlin stableboy, etc. Literally any "rare humanoid + profession" combo. Also, skeletons/zombies from these same races to use as mobs when the necromancer visits town.

Crazy eyes, weird postures, dissheveled hair, clothes that don't match, etc. Not so much monsters you have to fight outright but NPCs you have to navigate very carefully as with their insanity has come unstable hedge magic, paranoia, and very low will saves
