Chapter 1110: Shattering the Void

The army-level attack, originally meant to target military forces, had now been used to face a single opponent. Though it seemed like overkill, Lü Bu’s overwhelming strength was enough to shock everyone. Even after unleashing an army-level strike, no one stopped their assault.

Yan Xing summoned all the cloud energy in his sword, slashing Lü Bu down. Immediately, he and the others launched a barrage of attacks on the place where Lü Bu had fallen, mercilessly bombarding the area with army-level strikes.

At the same time, Zhang Xiu and the rest also gave it their all, directing their attacks to where Lü Bu had been driven into the ground.

Countless attacks rained down, bombarding the spot where Lü Bu had fallen. Only when the soldiers and generals alike were utterly exhausted did the barrage finally cease.

“He must be dead or at least severely injured by now,” Xiahou Yuan said, panting as he gazed at the newly formed lake where Lü Bu had been.

“He’s likely finished,” Pang De replied, breathing heavily. This was the fiercest battle he had ever fought.

High atop the city walls, Gao Shun stood with a solemn expression, a hint of sadness in his eyes. It seemed Lü Bu had failed to break free.

“Soldiers, prepare to avenge the general,” Gao Shun commanded, his voice calm yet resolute. There was no grand cause—only vengeance.

Before Gao Shun could act, a figure covered in wounds, surrounded by black inner energy, emerged from the lake. Though Lü Bu appeared battered, no one could afford to relax.

Without a word, the fully blackened Lü Bu swung his Sky Piercer halberd toward Zhang Xiu. But at that moment, another dark beam of light crashed into Lü Bu.

As soon as the two forces collided in mid-air, an intense storm erupted. Lü Bu was sent flying back.

The dark figure, taking advantage of the situation, pursued Lü Bu relentlessly. Before Lü Bu could regain his stance, a foot, imbued with immense power, struck him.

Even though Lü Bu had lost his rationality and was being controlled by resentment, his instincts as the strongest warrior remained intact. Reflexively, he raised his Sky Piercer to block the incoming kick, but the terrifying force still sent Lü Bu flying, crashing into the walls of Jiuyuan City.

The already cracked city wall, previously damaged by Xiahou Dun, collapsed entirely after Lü Bu’s impact, burying him under the rubble inside the city.

“Phew!” After completing the attack, Dian Wei finally landed, his immense strength having drained him.

“What are you doing here?!” Xiahou Yuan was shocked to see Dian Wei. As Cao Cao’s personal guard, Dian Wei would never leave Cao Cao’s side unless there was a major reason.

“I’m too late,” Dian Wei sighed, scratching his head with a wry smile. “My lord sent me to tell you not to attack Lü Bu. But I guess... it’s already too late.”

“We had no choice. Mengqi (Ma Chao) was nearly killed,” Pang De replied with a bitter smile. “It’s been days, and he still hasn’t woken up.”

“I’m done...” Zhang Xiu, seeing Dian Wei, felt the pressure lift and immediately collapsed, blood pooling beneath him.

“Get him out of here! If we don’t leave now, Lü Bu will come back,” Dian Wei said gravely.

“We’re leaving. Take care, Brother Dian,” Xiahou Yuan said as he supported Xiahou Dun. Xu Huang and Pang De carried Zhang Xiu, and the group quickly retreated.

After they left, Dian Wei turned his eyes toward the direction where Lü Bu had crashed into Jiuyuan. While he feared no one in a duel, even in this state, Lü Bu was a different beast altogether.

“This is going to be troublesome,” Dian Wei muttered, his face tense. He had already sensed something wrong with Lü Bu. Lü Bu was clearly being controlled; otherwise, any rational warrior would have taken flight rather than engage in close combat with him.

Lü Bu, after being kicked into the city and crashing through several homes, managed to regain a shred of consciousness from the blow.

“Reveal yourself!” Lü Bu growled, as golden light began to pierce through the black inner energy surrounding him.

“Dian Wei, I’m counting on you!” Lü Bu roared inwardly as he lunged forward like a wild beast. He needed to balance the two opposing wills within him before he could force them out.

Seeing Lü Bu charge, Dian Wei roared in response. His muscles swelled, his height increasing from nine feet to ten, as he braced himself against Lü Bu’s fierce attack.

“Open!” Dian Wei bellowed, gripping his double halberds tightly as he absorbed the force of Lü Bu’s strike. The sheer power caused the ground around them to sink by half a foot. With a mighty roar, Dian Wei twisted his halberds around Lü Bu’s Sky Piercer.

Dian Wei then yanked Lü Bu with all his strength. When it came to raw power, Dian Wei feared no one. As he suspected, even now, Lü Bu couldn’t match him in brute strength. Of course, this was also because Lü Bu was acting on instinct; otherwise, he would have simply flown into the sky.

With another roar, Dian Wei flung Lü Bu aside. Releasing his halberds, Dian Wei punched Lü Bu squarely in the chest. Despite strengthening his defenses, Lü Bu’s chest was still pierced by the punch, sending him flying once again, and his Sky Piercer slipped from his grasp.

As Lü Bu hurtled through the air, Dian Wei immediately charged after him, prepared to engage in hand-to-hand combat. In this, Dian Wei was undoubtedly the best, confident he could overpower anyone. He continued to press Lü Bu relentlessly.

Against Dian Wei’s sheer, brute force, Lü Bu, who relied on inner energy and control over heaven and earth’s essence, had no good counter. He became little more than a punching bag under Dian Wei’s onslaught. But suddenly, Dian Wei’s next punch felt different—he realized it wasn’t hitting Lü Bu’s usual, firm body.

Just as Dian Wei prepared to strike again, he noticed Lü Bu’s Sky Piercer returning to his hand from a distance. Black and golden inner energy spiraled around the halberd as Lü Bu clutched it tightly.

“Dian Wei, get back!” Lü Bu shouted as he opened his eyes. The force he unleashed in that moment sent the slightly stunned Dian Wei flying backward.

The black and golden inner energy swirling around Lü Bu was evenly matched. He knew the moment had come. Finally, Lü Bu had balanced the two opposing wills within him. Now it was time to expel them.

With a mighty roar, Lü Bu unleashed the most powerful strike of his life, using the Sky Piercer to slice through the conflicting energies, hurling them into the sky.

A golden and a black beam of energy intertwined as they shot toward the heavens. The very essence of the world seemed to respond to these forces, twisting and warping as radiant streaks of color shone brightly around them.

The sheer power of the strike left everyone in awe. The sky itself seemed to shatter like glass, cracking into countless pieces. In the midst of the thunderous crack, the sky broke open.

A gaping hole appeared in the heavens. Standing beneath it, Lü Bu gazed at the shifting images within the darkness. The memory of his battle with Zhao Yun resurfaced sharply in his mind.
