Defiance of the man that mocked God

As I promised, this is the extra chapter.

I was planning on making it a side chapter, but considering where we are in the story, it was better to just continue with the plot, once it ends and the Volume comes to a conclusion, dropping a few side chapters will be no problem.

/BOOOM!/

'Dust rose into the skies as Phryne crashed her Great Battleaxe, Gorda, against Silver's Halberd!'

'The impact wave of her strike traveled onto the ground, breaking it in an irregularly shaped circular pattern as waves of dirt formed beyond the dust cloud.'

/FWOOSH!/

'But it didn't take long for Phryne to be catapulted out like a bullet!'

'She rolled in the air in a surprising feat of nimbleness, falling on the ground with her two feet, drawing two long lines on the stone dirt as she slid off.'

/SNAP!/

'From within the dust, SIlver snapped his fingers, and a powerful shockwave spread out, clearing the dust from around him.'

/Thud thud.../

'He dusted his shoulders with a nonchalant expression, stretching his arms and moving them in circles.'

"Heh."

'He looked at her as he grabbed his Halberd with a simple kick of his foot, even from afar, he could see Phryne's look of surprise.'

'After all, not only had he resisted her attack, he even pushed her aside, albeit with his Plasmids.'

'Even if Phryne can resist them with minimal damage, her body can still be pushed around, a strong enough gush of wind will send her off her feet were the ground to give in…'

'In this case, he merely pushed her with a powerful air bullet, there was nothing she could do to evade it as she was in a rather awkward position.'

'She can't fly after all.'

'And this was evident by her distorting expression, one Silver was more than happy in further aggravating…'

'He smiled. Looking at her with a rather vicious expression, even from so far away, they could see and most likely hear each other pretty well.'

"Took you long enough to come back down, guess stairs truly aren't your forte."

"...##!!"

'Phryne's face twisted in anger as her face turned red by the second.'

/Clench.../

/CLANG!/

/Crack!/

'She dropped down her large Battle Axe, having it part the rock beneath her, looking at Silver with utter disgust.'

"Talk as much as you want now, I won't be as patient as last time."

/Swoosh!/

'She swung her axe upward, creating a powerful airblast that shook the stones and cleaved a small ravine in front of her foot.'

"Bratty kid that knows no bound…"

"HEY!..."

'As Phryne spoke, a girl came down running from the stands…'

'Her hair was blue, her clothes were orange, and her expression was calm and fierce.'

'She held a spear in her hands...'

'There was only one person in this place that fit all of that... It was Shakti Varma, Captain of the Ganesha Familia!'

(Image?)

"STOP IT!" She exclaimed, grabbing the spear from her back, swinging it in the sky

"It's already over, drop your weapons!"

'It was obvious why she was doing this.'

'The War game could be considered to have ended, it didn't matter how, why, or how anti-climatic it was, only one thing mattered… That by the rules set by the two parties and the Gods, the Ishtar Familia had lost.'

'Phryne's actions could be considered akin to a frontal attempt at aggression towards Silver now as they weren't within the rules anymore.'

'So as the "sole" person that could take her own, being a fellow Level 5, even if her strength was beneath Phryne's, she would at least make her stop!'

/Tug…/

"?!"

'But before she could do so, Silver raised his right arm, stopping her.'

"Thank you for your consideration…"

'His eyes darted back to Phryne, staring at her in silent determination.'

"But this is between me and her..."

"So stay away, it would be bad were you to get hurt."

'His words confused and offended Shakti.'

"Huh?! #! Listen here…"

/SNAP!/

'Before she had the time to retort, Silver snapped his fingers, and Shakti reappeared next to Ganesha, confused.'

"Huh? How did…"

'Looking around confused, she realized what had happened, but before she had the time to act, Ganesha intervened:'

"Leave them."

/SHOCK!/

'The God's words came as surprise not only to them but to everyone in Orario!'

'Remember, all of this was being shared live under the power of Hermes!'

'Albeit the people were still confused, they hadn't exactly lost their senses yet, they fully understood that Phryne's actions were devoid of a proper reason...'

'And as such, if she were to continue interfering, her already bad reputation would dip out into oblivion...'

'But hearing that Ganesha wouldn't intervene... Why?!'

""G-Ganesha-Sama?!""

'All of the Ganesha Familia questioned in unison...'

"A decision made with such resolve is not one easily dispelled…"

"It's not for us to stop them." Ganesha answered in a solemn tone

"But he'll…!"

"..."

'Ganesha did not speak anymore, merely crossing her arms as he looked at the arena below.'

'His silence, however, said enough.'

/Clench…/

"So be it."

'Albeit frustrated, Shakti laid down her arms, taking an observer position, like the others around her.'

'His arrogant statement... She would observe it.'

'Though honestly, she didn't put much faith in him.'

'But so is life in Orario, every once in a while, an oddity will rise, and most often than not, it'll fall.'

'He is only one of the bigger ones.'

/Back at the improvised Arena…/

"Oh? I didn't expect you to refuse her... My charm is truly dangerous."

"Are you that eager to be with me?! You should've just said from the start keke!..." Phryne joked, her chin wiggling with each chuckle

'While Silver maintained his poker face, Phryne laughed so hard spit fell onto the ground…'

"..."

Nauseating.

But I should prepare as well…

'Silver moved his attention from her terrible display to the side, making a grasping motion.'

'The people of Orario watched with great attention, what would he do now?'

/SHA!/

/CRACK!/

'A box rushed from the ground like a fish jumping from the water, and once it made its way into his hands, he crushed the box without a single shred of hesitation, revealing its contents!'

'A pair of metallic gauntlets… No, gloves!'

'They may look like gauntlets, but they weren't made of metal, and if they were, it was a very flexible metal…'

'It was some sort of unknown leather…'

(I'm working on a better description and hopefully, an image)

'Back at Babel, Hephaestus grimaced, she knew he would take those out eventually...'

'While Silver inspected the gloves.'

I didn't expect I would use them so soon…

"Sigh..."

Well, I had to use the money I got from the Casinos on something.

And since I used most of it to pay the debt, the little I had left was used to convince that girl to make something for me.

It surely took a while… I ought to thank her properly again… I do have a reason to meet her... As I have yet to pay all of it... By 1 Valis...

/Chuckles.../

I can't help but feel sorry for doing this to her... And for her to have agreed to it.

Sometimes I fell that she's pampering me.

/Wear.../

'He put them on with a small smile, one by one, while Phryne continued with her monologue'

"... But…"

'Her eyes sharpened.'

"Your actions aren't exactly in line with what I'd expect from someone trying to court me."

"Even though I am interested in uncooperative boys… You crossed the line."

'She raised her Battleaxe.'

"And most importantly… YOU PISSED ME OFF BOY!"

/CRACK!/

/DASH!/

'Phryne's foot dug onto the ground as her eyes turned red, she dashed forward, leaving a faint afterimage as she sped through the earth.'

"..."

'Despite so, her speed was, at most, average for Silver.'

'Not fast… Not slow… Impressive even, since he didn't expect such a big target to move so fast... But such was the stat boost from the difference between a Level 3 and 6.'

'This was more than enough to raise the speed of a rather slow adventurer, someone that focused solely on her physical strength, onto his, someone that sought his absolute limits.'

'He raised his hands and looked at them, smiling a bit bitterly.'

'As the world slowed down, he thought quickly:'

I can't damage her with my Plasmids unless I do something unconventional…

Poison and toxins might work, but that would only be a cheap victory... If they worked.

Any form of interaction with her body via the Plasmids would also be blocked or greatly diminished due to her Development Abilities and High Vitality values.

So I can't say for certain if manufacturing a strong toxin would even work…

After all, she has Magic Resistance, Physical Resistance, Healing Power, and Abnormal resistance... She's a pure tank.

So… Deeming the difference in power... I'll just have to rely on the standard, it never really disappointed me.

'His two gloves seemed to faintly vibrate.'

There was a reason why I let Aisha beat me up considerably...

Just like her, I have my own Development Abilities.

If I can't damage your body…

Then I'll simply focus all of it on myself!

/SHINE!/

/BAM!/

'Light exploded from his gloves like glorious pillars of light!'

/TREMBLE!/

"HM?!"

'Phryne stopped her charge, gazing at Silver with a frown.'

'Her face becoming ferocious, she licked her lips in anticipation and the desire to conquer such an unruly pray, even if she won't have any fun with it, she was still an Amazon by blood!'

'Even if her's was extremely twisted...'

"Is this your struggle boy? You better stop while I'm still being gentle."

/CRACK!/

'But Silver didn't listen, chaotic forces gathered around him, breaking the stone beneath him as bolts of electricity rushed from his arms, spreading around his body!'

/SPLIT!/

'His skin became redder and redder, splitting apart into terrible wounds, especially the points the lightning hit, spewing blood all around…'

"URG!"

'Grunting, he channeled his power inwards, all of his concentration being used at this moment, his skin smoking hot…'

/Shaa…/

'Greenish energy started to flow out of his wounds, like faint mist during cold days…'

'Some may recognize this from something he did long ago…'

'During the previous War Game, the day where he also pushed himself to an extreme degree…'

'His body slowly broke apart under his own Magic power, and from within his wounds, this energy was released outward!'

'However! That time, he pushed his body in order to increase his own Plasmids' power…'

'This time…'

"It fucking hurts!"

'Silver grit his teeth in agony, his body continued to gather energy and transform...'

Too late to turn back now.

Just... URG!

Almost there…

"Humph…"

How long will he ignore me?

'Phryne had enough of watching his pitiful display.'

'She cracked her knuckles, taking a step forward.'

"At this rate, I just need to wait for him to k…"

/FWOOSH!/

"?!"

'Silver suddenly vanished, reappearing in front of her, one arm drawn back as he prepared to punch…'

"Yeah…"

/BOOOM!/

'Sound broke as his arm cut through the air, a rising strike right onto the middle of her toad face…'

"Thank you for waiting."

'But Phryne never heard his words, his fist was faster than sound, and all of that energy was transferred onto her face.'

/SMASH!/

"UGHYGH?!"

/FWOOSH!/

'Silver's fist smashed against her face, sending shockwaves against her fat-filled body.'

'She barely even had the time to react as her body was sent flying back, crashing against the mountain, past the small river, far away!'

/Crash… Crash…/

'The echoes of her impact finally reached his ears after a few seconds…'

'But Silver was more focused on himself that anything else.'

"Haa…"

'He opened his mouth to exhale, letting out huge portions of smoke, as if his body was some sort of furnace.'

It's hot… Way too hot…

I'm overheating… My vision's getting murky.

'Silver's transformation was… Extreme to say the least.'

'His entire body had somewhat changed as his previously chaotic condition stabilized.'

'His skin had returned to its original healthy state, albeit with a slight red sheen.'

'The wounds that previously covered his body had vanished, or slowly closed up, but in their place, greenish energy seeped from beneath his skin like smoke passing through a piece of fabric.'

'His hair had become completely messy, but as he moved, it followed him with a certain delay, as if he was on water.'

'His eyes were fully green... Completely gree, like two balls of light, there was nothing to differentiate or identify the different parts of the Iris and Pupil.'

'Like a lighthouse, they emanated greenish light, even if weak.'

'To complement this bizarre sight, the corners of his eyes had been forcibly torn, like two big cuts leading to the sides of his head…'

'Green energy seeped from within those wounds, forming something like a streak of light around his head, those two streaks floated disorderly in the wind like flags.'

"..."

'He felt something was wrong, so he immediately touched his face… Only to grimace.'

By mixing several body-enhancing Plasmids, this is what happens?

I'll go blind at this rate… And even if temporary, it would be a pain in the ass to face others...

It's not the time to joke.

'Yet, he smiled widely, his teeth shining, making his smile eerie…'

'It flashed across all of Orario with great detail, his expression made hundreds of kids cry instantly in fear.'

"Hm?"

'Silver's face snapped to the side, looking at the area Phryne had fallen.'

'From afar…'

/RUSH!.../

"...you… You… YOU FUCKING BASTARD!"

'She screamed as she ran, her voice becoming louder as she approached.'

'Like an enraged rhino, she bulldozed through everything on her path!'

'Even with her extremely bulky armor, she could run faster than a bullet… A true monster.'

(Image?)

/Grin…/

'Silver grinned.'

"Now we're talking."

'He looked to the side, seeing her Battleaxe, remembering the information he stole from Ishtar's vault.'

'A prized weapon worth slightly less than half a hundred million Valis, made of Pure Adamantite, a material so hard even Phryne would find it taxing to break, even if she were to put her entire power and weight behind it.'

'Albeit most considered Adamantite as an unbreakable material, that in itself wasn't the truth as it could very well be broken by decently strong Level 6 adventurers... Depending on how pure it is of course.'

'The least pure alloy of Adamantite could be shattered by a Level 3 adventurer depending on his specialties.'

'As for her armor, it was made of a mix of Pure Adamantite and Orichalcum, since the latter has anti-magic properties... Albeit the proportion of this material is really low, less than 5%, it was to the point it barely came out as an outer layer.'

'This was because Orichalcum was terrible at holding magic within it, dissipating it instantly, and the only reason why the percentage wasn't any higher, was because this metal was the most prized metal in the entire world.'

'The strongest.'

'In comparison, Silver's Halberd was made purely of Mithril, a material praised for its extreme Magic conduction and hard enough for most first-class adventurers to have difficulty breaking it, together with a bit of divine blood coming from Hestia, and her hair as well...'

'However, his Halberd wasn't by any means similar to other Mithril weapons... It could be said to be alive... It had its own Status...'

'It grew with him, it copied the Status of its wilder...'

"Huff..."

It's heavy... Not very sharp, but considering Phryne's fighting style...

It makes sense.

'Grasping the Axe, he raised it.'

'It was even bigger than his Halberd, fit to be gigantic even for Phryne's size.'

"HUFF!"

'Clenching his body, he threw it forward against Phryne!'

"!"

/Grit!/

'She gritted her teeth in anger!'

"ARE YOU TAKING ME LIGHTLY BOY!"

/GRAP!/

/CRACK!/

'Phryne took a step forward, crushing the ground as her right hand moved to intercept the ax.'

"!"

'But when she grabbed it, her hand recoiled slighty backward due to the force behind it.'

"..."

'But instead of reflecting on herself… She blamed something else.'

'Unwilling to accept it!'

'Seeing her jump forward, Silver said:'

"This is where it ends… Or where it starts?"

'Silver also took a step forward, it was light and slow, incomparable to Phryne's momentum.'

'He left faint green footsteps as he walked, they slowly dissipated as he moved.'

Level 6…

Haa…

When placed against impossible odds, adventurers would often call such moments, an adventure.

'Unbeknownst to him, brownish specs of light started to form behind his back, sparkling for a single moment before dying…'

"I shouldn't say this… It's unprofessional…" Silver said with a smirk

Why does my heart beat like this, I wonder?

"There are uncountable mysteries hidden within one's body…"

/CRACK!/

'Phryne was just around the corner, raising her giant Ax in one swing!'

'Silver's eyes flashed with light, reflecting his excitement.'

An adventure...

"SHOW ME WHAT A LEVEL 6 CAN DO!"

/CRACK!/

'Silver dashed forward!'

'It wasn't only his heart that beat fast, the people following him…'

'Their hearts also sprung into action!'
