Update and pausing next billing cycle

Hey there everyone!

It’s been a crazy couple of months for me so I wanted to give an update. First off, Scrap Yard has been has seen staff schedule changes and new employment that has needed training, new product releases and reformatting books all while doing my best to keep the custom queue on time. I’ve also had two rather large trips this summer: San Francisco including Dore Alley, which was quite successful for my leather work and the annual Camp Feral trip. In order to accommodate those trips, I’ve had to work overtime to make sure there is stuff for my employees to work on from home while I’m away. This is all in the midst of a prolonged illness and eventual passing of my grandmother. Any little spare time I’ve had was mostly dedicated to friends and Tears of the Kingdom, which may now be one of my fav games of all time, so I could separate myself from anything resembling work.

As a result I have not been able to create as much artwork as of late even though I have plenty of ideas I’d like to get down, especially Zelda/tears of the kingdom. You’ve also notice that I haven’t been finishing my pieces recently and opting to stop at inking. I haven’t been satisfied with my digital colouring, wanting them to be more saturated, vibrant and textured than they turn out to be. More so, I really enjoy inking, nailing down an expression, anatomy, perspective and certain texture with only a black line has been really satisfying. Therefore I’ve been calling my work quits when I get there, I would like to be able to colour my work, but it takes some time to build that encourement back. Regardless, I hope you’ve enjoyed what I’ve been creating so far (I know I have) and I genuinely hope to colour some of them. My first priority for colour practice is to get the ych finished that I started back in January.

August has given me only 2 weeks between trips to work on Scrap Yard projects and so therefore to ease my workload, I’m pausing this upcoming payment period. The next couple of months I should be able to get some new artwork complete and I cannot wait to show you all. Thank you for your continued support, I am grateful every day for patrons like you :)

Sincerely,

-Scraps/Never

Completely understandable, it sounds like a crazy amount to be juggling. Take care of yourself. For what it's worth, the pieces up to inking have been wonderful and enjoyable! I hope you're able to feel more comfortable and confident in your coloring again soon. Wishing you the best 💜
