Keychain ideas, critiques, and more

Hello y’all!

Yesterday on the phone with a friend, she told me about how some of her wood 811 keychains chipped in paint. I was so embarrassed about this, especially when she showed me how a wood keychain shes had for a year, has kept up much better.

im thinking the wood keychains are not the best, long term for my shop, but also for my customers. Now, some people have already gotten their vol.2 811 preorders, while others are now waiting for me to place a new order batch through my manufacturer.

Sadly, I am so hesitant about asking my manufacturer for more wood keychains, given the history of these breaking so easily for some; and for others nothing seems wrong.
Thinking of this idea;

>sending everyone who preordered the wood keychains doubles, just in case

>using the same images of the keychains I made, but getting them as acrylic and from another manufacturer 😭 possibly one solid color keychain? Like the example below. And possibly opening up a new preorder window for these, but, I think it’s kind of ridiculous for people to pay so much for better quality keychains….. so unsure what to do OTL

Anyways, I’m curious if anyone here has purchased from my shop. Did you love or hate the experience? Have your items broke, or did you have good or bad customer experience? Let it all out here in the comments, I aim to do so much better this year and am so ashamed of sending out bad quality products!!!

Although part of my one beetle keychain snapped, it was able to survive soaking in the rain on the side of the curb (probably got ran over) for 48 hours looking as good as ever!

My Vittorino keychain snapped and I’m praying I can order new ones because all my previous were thrown out by a friend. Made me dearly upset :-(

I’m so sorry to hear that!:( are you in the US, or outside? You’re free to dm me as I have many beetle keychains (and some secret better quality ones^^)

Im very late but they do last long as long as you take extra care of them! I sadly dropped my bag and my beetle keychain snapped in half today, I’m hoping to buy a new one soon!

i have a wooden keychain and mine has been perfect to this day! my keychain has a little bit of a darker print but i was aware of that when i ordered it and dont mind at all! im very happy with my purchase as it is so so cute! i keep my keychain on my keys and i have to admit they do get tossed around and dropped quite a bit.. very glad to say that my keychain has held up well regardless!!!

Yeah, I’ve had some break instantly upon me just grabbing them. It’s insane, and, very shameful for me to think they break upon impact of arriving. I keep my keychains in ita bags, or on the wall as well, so mine haven’t broken yet. But siiiigh. Live and learn

Biko

Oh wow, I’m impressed they’ve lasted for this long, just be careful to not jinx yourself^^ thank you for the comment and the purchase!

Biko

Well, I’m glad they haven’t broken, but glad they are able to go outside like a real friend:) thank you for shopping, and I hope they live for many years!

Good luck with that, Dubuk! It's a pity I can't buy your goods. They look great, I like how carefully and respectfully you treat your fans and what you sell, you're a cool guy

i love the look of the wooden keychains but i agree they're more brittle. the solid color acrylic is definitely cute, i think moreso than a clear acrylic. (i keep all my keychains on a pinboard because i have soo many, so i can't speak to the durability)

Paperweight Jellyfish

i think the acrylic keychains would be nice!

i have the wooden ones and they are fine so far ! i actually put them on my phone as a keychain & i love them a lot. i always try to keep them from scratching just in case, so far completely fine

bo

My wooden ones have held up fine so far! But i also wear most keychains i have as necklaces so they don't really go through much wear n tear so this might not be the best test for them ^^'

Also I don’t really use wooden stuff for display so mine hasn’t chipped paint yet. They are just too delicate 😭 I kept all of my wooden merch elsewhere haha If you still want to produce wooden stuff, you could focus on the packaging. Other than that, haha put a warning for the customer 🤪 you buy you die

😁 ha mine got broken but not too badly and still cute First, as someone who also print merch, I do agree wood is not the best material, unless you have a GOOD manufacturer but wood is just a hit or miss. There are so many things could affect your product either the weather, shipping or the quality itself so don’t blame yourself too much. I don’t think giving double or extra is a great idea, too costly and unnecessary. You could switch to acrylic, although it doesn’t fit your vibe but it’s more sturdier and looks aesthetically pleasing imo. (Esp Juliek stuff 😍😍😍). If the manu has the option to change color of the acrylic then you should use that to your advantage bc your product would look even more colorful. (Sorry if my english is bad 🥹)
