Forearm Technique for wrist and hand tightness
Added 2024-01-05 16:00:11 +0000 UTCHappy New Year! This week’s post is about your forearms, but why?
You might notice when you wiggle your fingers, way high up on the forearm your muscles wiggle, too. The muscles of the forearm run down and eventually turn into the tendons that control your wrists and fingers. The forearm muscles flex and extend in order to move your fingers and they are the command center for your hand. So if you’ve ever asked yourself, “how do you relax a wrist, anyway!?” You don’t! You relax your forearms.

</figure>When you’ve got wrist and hand issues like a lack of grip strength, tendinitis/repetitive strain, numbness in the hands, carpal tunnel-like symptoms, the key to working out weakness and tension in your hands, fingers and wrists is to focus on the forearm. I really hope you haven’t spent your winter break typing relentlessly, but in case you have, here is a super helpful technique for you.
Another thing about the forearm compartment is that it’s a muscle group that mostly goes unnoticed until pain shows up in your wrist, or there’s an issue with your grip strength, etc. Before you can feel forearm tightness, the symptom further down in your hand will alert you there’s a problem. This might be the reason why we don’t pay that much attention to these guys but they are STRONG and constantly working for us! Enjoy this one!
