As a fun Friday update post-Ep.11-launch, I thought I'd show a few tiny details that are easy to overlook. Trivia that you can brag about to your non-Caper friends if they didn't catch them already. ;)
Image #1: This is both a reference and a copout. People who've read my blog post on OPMeat.com about Spaceballs know that my favorite scene in the entire movie is the "fastforwarding" bit. In that scene, they show Dark Helmet their Mr. Coffee and Mr. Radar. For the cappuccino bit, I wanted to put a coffee maker in his cockpit, but the flat surface of "Mr. Coffee" was way easier to plug in. So, reference.
Image #2: In this brief flashback to Quatre and Sandy karaoke-ing together, I picked this specific song for a reason. It's Reba McEntire's "My Sister." Pretty on the nose, right? And the lyrics in that shot are actually foreshadowing what the Winner family ploy is looking to accomplish. Two hints one stone.
Image #3: This was a super fast scroll so it's not like you would see it without pausing. But the original idea was simply to plug in the doctors' Gundam Wiki entries and call it a day. Here's the weird thing though: Professor S's entry is... strangely barren? So I decided, why not just plug in our own trivia about him?
Image #4: This was an easy spot for any Gundam X fans, but for those uninitiated, first: go watch Gundam X. But second, "Freeden III" is the name of the mobile suit repair shop the team's mechanic, Kid, founds at the end of the show. That's where Quatre got his paint samples.
Image #4b: Also, notice that of Quatre's samples to match Gundams with Trowa, he didn't pick any that matched Trowa's suit? 🤔
