Solar Blood Masters (190)

Chapter 190 - Enel Snow

“Ligwei Smash!”

Enel Snow’s poisonous amethyst scorpion tail lashed out and struck General Bailof with a force that sent him crashing through the palace wall.

BOOM!

The earth trembled. The palace vibrated. Snow and ice cascaded down from the impact point like a miniature avalanche.

Above, on the balcony overlooking the battle, the Snow Maidens were jolted. They stumbled, barely managing to steady themselves before crashing into the railing.

“Who is that Enel character?” Yukiana stared down at the transformed Enel with a hint of curiosity in her eyes.

Beside her, Labeach’s brow furrowed in thought. “Enel… that name… It sounds… familiar…”

Then, it struck her. “He was the White Scorpion! An elite assassin in the Slayer Division. He earned many merits and was even promoted to Head! However, he only served two terms before retiring. The reason was unknown. He vanished for decades only to surface now.”

“Oh… Enel… So he’s the one…? Cough! Cough!” Xavier Snow recognized the name. He wiped his mouth with a trembling hand.

Labeach’s expression darkened. She recalled a memory she’d rather forget. Enel Snow had pursued her romantically decades ago, but she’d rejected his advances. And now, he was here, participating in this ridiculous contest, hoping to claim her hand in marriage.

‘That despicable man…’ she thought, clenching her fists.

The rumbling subsided.

Bailof burst forth from the rubble. He landed before Enel, seemingly unfazed by the attack.

He cracked his neck and grinned. “That was a rough hit, old man.”

Enel smiled thinly, pretending to be pleased by the compliment. “Four hits remaining, Snow General.”

Bailof scoffed and clanked his gauntlets together, creating sparks. “I don’t go back on my word. COME!”

He adopted a defensive stance and released his Solar Pressure that had the lesser contenders in the courtyard shivering.

Enel’s eyes narrowed to slits as another Soul Planet brightened on his Soul Orbital. A beam of energy shot into him. His speed increased dramatically.

He blurred into action!

WHOOSH!

He dashed around Bailof continuously like a mad tyrant while searching for an opening.

Then he launched himself into the air with a swift flick of his tail. He curled his scorpion body and spun downwards like a deadly blade!

Bailof turned, barely managing to raise his gauntlets in time to block the attack!

BOOM!

The impact sent him flying backward into the crowd!

“Scatter!”

The spectators screamed and scrambled out of the way as Bailof’s massive form crashed into their midst.

“That old man’s strength is insane!”

“He swatted Bailof away like a fly!”

“Is he actually going to win this competition?!”

“Those maidens… they’ll be his!”

Bailof coughed blood onto the snow. Before he could even stand, Enel unleashed another attack!

“Ice Lock!”

A wave of chilling energy washed over Bailof that froze him in place. He became a statue of silver ice and even his Solar Essence was suppressed.

“Now… DIE!”

Enel conjured a massive spectral pincer that he slammed down on Bailof.

BOOM!

A huge explosion rocked the courtyard. Ice and snow erupted skyward in a geyser! A crater formed where Bailof had been standing moments before.

“Is he… dead?”

“No way! Bailof is too strong!”

“He can’t be defeated so easily!”

Yukiana scoffed. “Bailof won’t be defeated that easily.”

Enel landed at the edge of the crater and peered down before commenting in a slow dragged tone, “Is the puppy still breathing down there?”

Suddenly, the ice and snow exploded outwards and Bailof’s enraged form emerged!

“That almost killed me, old man.”

Behind him, a spectral image of a monstrous rabbit materialized! Its fur was as dark as night yet its darkness was concealed beneath layers of ice and snow. It possessed dangerous red eyes and its massive ears twitched angrily.

Demon Snow Rabbit!

3 Soul Orbitals, radiating the potent energy of 16 Soul Planets came into being.

Bailof was a 5th Stellar Soul Layer! Two layers above Enel! He leaped out of the crater and landed ten meters away from Enel.

He activated a Soul Planet. A hard, protective blue shield enveloped him.

“You have one move left, old man. Then I’ll crush you.”

“Oh my… my old bones are creaking.” Enel narrowed his eyes to a slit. ‘Bailof has activated his most powerful defense! The ‘Diamond Shield’ In order to break it, I’ll have to go all out! Snow Storm Bullet is my strongest and most explosive attack. I’ll defeat him and then…’

He glanced at the balcony where Labeach stood watching.

‘Labeach’s nectar… shall be mine!’ he thought, licking his lips.

“Old creep.” Labeach scowled at him.

Enel unleashed his most potent attack.

“Snow Storm Bullet!”

He gathered the icy energy of his Solar Blood Spirit and unleashed a colossal orb of snow and ice! It was a concentrated blast of pure, chilling power! It tore toward Bailof’s Diamond Shield, shattering the seven layers of protection he’d erected one by one, creating multiple shockwaves that rippled outwards!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

When the blast hit the shield, huge cracks appeared across its surface and Bailof was being pushed back! He gritted his teeth, digging his hands into the ground, desperately trying to hold his ground.

Moments later…

The beam dissipated. Bailof’s shield, though cracked, held firm.

‘Damn! It failed…’ Enel thought.

Bailof dispelled his shield while rotating his shoulders.

“It’s my turn now, old man! And I won’t be holding back!”

He activated a Soul Planet and his gauntlets grew larger, morphing into razor-sharp claws. A fluffy rabbit tail emerged at his rear, and massive, floppy ears sprouted from his head.

He looked ridiculous with those plush rabbit features on his monstrous form. But no one dared to laugh due to his explosive power.

Enel braced himself. ‘He’s going to unleash his Rabbit Hell Smash. Even my Ligwei exoskeleton won’t survive that.’

“GROWL! Prepare to croak, old man!”

“He’s going to do it!” The spectators were gasping in anticipation.

Just as Bailof lunged forward and was about to unleashed his killer move…

WHOOSH!

A rift opened in the sky above the arena.

And a small figure, with long, golden hair, tumbled out.

“Damn you, Qi Hawk! I said human settlement! Not a free fall into the Arctic! And this wind! It’s messing up my hair!”

The golden-haired child screamed as he plummeted downwards.

Just before he crashed into the arena, a violet clam materialized beneath him and broke his fall. They landed with a thud between Bailof and Enel.

The crowd gasped.

“Where did that golden hair kid come from?”

“He fell from the sky!”

“Where are his parents?”

“That hair… I’ve never seen a golden hue so vibrant. He’s not from our empire.”

“He’s so cute!” some of the ladies in the crowd cooed.

Raphael sat up and rubbed his head. His wings, horns and tail were concealed. He looked like an average, harmless child. Except for the black pillar wrapped in his long, golden hair.

“What the… Where…? Is this the human settlement Qi Hawk spoke of?”

He looked around at the crowd.

“There are humans all around so it must be it, but is seems I might have interrupted a festivity of sorts. Is that…”

SNIFF! SNIFF!

He noticed the array of food nearby.

And his stomach growled loudly.

‘Wow… that aroma… It’s intense. My tummy is burning. Now that I think about it… It’s been FIVE years since I’ve eaten anything! I’m completely starved! Maybe if I stuff my face, I’ll grow taller in no time.’

He looked down at Kudumei who was shivering with her head tucked into the snow. ‘Kudumei? She doesn’t like the cold. Oh, it must be because of Silk Yune’s devastating attack.’

He picked up the clam and started walking towards the food area, where tables laden with delicacies were set up.

“Don’t worry, Kudumei. Silk Yune can’t hurt you anymore. This area is just naturally cold. There’s nothing to fear. Let’s go grab some grub! Oh, wait! I forgot… I don’t have any money. Maybe they can sponsor me some food.”

As he walked past Bailof, “Excuse me, sir.”

Bailof’s massive hand shot out, stopping him.

“Oi! Ill-mannered brat! Where do you think you’re going?!”

“Huh? Ill-mannered?” Raphael frowned, then remembered his manners. “Oh… Sorry, sir. I was just going over there to ask for some food.”

“What? You dare?” Bailof glared at him.

“Is something wrong? Why can’t I get some? There’s so much! And look at all those people feasting happily!”

“That food is reserved for the winners of this contest. If you want to eat some grub, you’ll have to defeat me first! Otherwise… piss off!”

“What? I have to defeat you?” Raphael looked up at the hulking man. He then turned to Enel Snow.

“Is it true, mister? To get some food, I have to defeat this… hulking man?”

Enel sighed. “Yes, it’s true, youngster. All the food you can eat. And all the maidens you can… feast on. I was in the middle of challenging him just now when you interrupted our duel.”

“Oh… Sorry about that, mister. But, do you mind if I cut in? I’m really hungry! I haven’t eaten in years!”

“Hmmm?” Enel was taken aback. ‘Is this youngster… serious?’

The crowd was equally stunned.

“Did that kid just say… he wants to challenge Bailof?”

“He’s insane!”

“He’s going to be crushed!”

“Someone stop him!”

A few caring mothers in the crowd called out.

“Little boy! Come here! I’ll bake you some bread! There’s no need to injure yourself!”

But Raphael was resolute. He wanted to taste that succulent food he’d smelled.

Bailof burst out laughing.

“Kuhuhahaha! Interesting. You’ve got guts, kid. Come. I’ll spank your ass and send you crying to your mommy before I punish that geezer!”
