And Bong Soon is someone he's known for years. She's his friend and he cares about her and I think he's starting to have romantic feelings for her. He's a kinda overprotective but i don't think he's controlling, he's just trying to do everything in his power to keep her safe. Even though we know she doesn't need protecting, he has no clue.
