Great podcast, as always, but one bit got me thinking. You say you want to be like Edgar Wright, so people only know what you made, not what you do in your daily life. But for years, you've been doing podcasts, and especially this new/patreon version it feels way more personal, than someone who only wants to be their work, would do. And don't get me wrong, from a listener point of view, I understand why I (and maybe we) enjoy it. Early days (long gone) YouTube, built a place where we, your "fans", do care about you, on top of the videos. But you have multiple times expressed mixed opinions about this relationship, yet here you are, dropping (most of) your persona, and just chating to us about yourself and your life. I'm not trying to call you out, I'm genuinely curious about your opinion on this duality relation towards us.

So I've noticed some other YouTube drama that's slightly relevant. Do you listen to the Hello Internet podcast, with CGPGrey and Brady Haran from Numberphile/Computerphile/Objectivity/AWholeLotOfOtherScienceyChannels. In the last two episodes, they've talked about how Brady had an Objectivity video (Which is a channel about interesting stuff at the British Royal Academy of Science's library) demonetised. The video was about animal locomotion, where a man was using a series of cameras to photograph animals (including humans) moving to see how exactly their muscles moved and so on. Seeing as the point was to look at muscles, this meant the humans being photographed were naked. Which... meant the video included some shots of these photographs that included penises. Now, this is nothing sexual at all, it's entirely for the sake of science and art. But of course, the video got demonetised so Brady put it up for a manual review and the "manual review" effectively rejected the video again basically instantly. Which kinda implied there was no actual manual review, it was just an automatic process. The video has been remonetised now, because he had to actually e-mail one of his contacts at YouTube but still. The manual review system is kinda horrendous. The other one I heard about recently is from a Hearthstone streamer, Disguised Toast. Toast has a second channel, mostly for stream vods and other stuff like that, and someone reported it as impersonating his main channel. So YouTube took the channel down. He appealed this, including a tweet from his actual proper Twitter account and with proof that he owned the channel aaaaaaand YouTube rejected the appeal. And told him he wasn't allowed to use any of his accounts. Which meant including his primary account. So basically, YouTube decided his second account was impersonating himself and then banned him.

Here is a quick rundown of the Marvel TV shows: Agents of SHIELD season 1: first 8 eps boring shield stuff then on episode 8 they start to talk about how Agent Coulson came back to life, then episode 16 Captain America: winter Solider happens and it becomes a small team hiding from Hydra sleeper agents which carries over to Season 2, (Season 2 is where the Helicarrier in Age of Ultron come from) End of Season 2 into season 3 deals win InHumans and a number of ordinary people getting Superpowers (think Xmen but with alien origins and Marvel have the rights to it). Season 4 had three distinct arcs, a Ghost Rider story, Life Model decoys/AI story and a virtual world were Hydra won the events of Winter Soilder. Season 5 looks to be going into Space. Agent Carter: 2 good short seasons Inhumans TV show seems to be awful and was cancelled before airing and will just finish it's 8 episode run The Netflix Show are all fairly good, especially Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, Iron Fist was just boring

Though I couldn't do as much as I would like, I started contributing on Patreon the second you did this latest reboot because I knew this would be 1.) the most creative and entertaining stuff on Youtube and 2.) your views would crash and you needed all the support you could get. I'm glad to hear how much you're enjoying this at the moment and that you're getting real satisfaction from it, and if we can help enable that and be entertained at the same time into the deal, I'm sure everyone would agree that's a really worthwhile thing.

I completely get your complaints about Marvel and DC comics, it's why I don't bother with their comics. However I would recommend Image Comics, pretty much all of them are self-contained so you don't have to read 60 years of backstory and they aren't filled with ads. "Saga" and "The Wicked + The Divine" are two of my favourites.
