Fuck Yeah, Doctor Who - S11E07 - Kerblam!

I liked it. Mike didn't.

FIGHT!

Fuck Yeah, Doctor Who - S11E07 - Kerblam!

It wasn't that the janitor wanted better working conditions. He wanted to stop the automation and reduction of human staff. He wanted every worker to be a human. 'cause humans need to work for life to have meaning or some shit and giving everyone a living wage and the time to be creative would be a bad thing or some shit.

Siffrin Greene

The "high blood pressure" joke made me laugh out loud

Narmatonia

Good

I suppose the Kerblam system has an understanding of utilitarianism

Harry Cochrane

WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT BEEPING

Casey Holloway

I disliked this one ideologically, because what sort of world with the potential for total automation still needs jobs? Or to pay for school? And didn't the system (and they made a big deal about it being good) kill an innocent person to threaten the villain?

Jaxom

noooo, chibnall can go if he wants, but not jodie or Tosin!!! and a season over 2 years is kinda what season 7 did.

Malachy Hamilton

I thought the same, but a second watch cleared it up for me

Malachy Hamilton

probably the goop that he turned Dan into

Malachy Hamilton

Could this be the most tangent based podcast episode? and also that goddamn beeping fucked with me for too long!

Joel Coxhead

I saw today there's been a rumour that next series is going to be half the length of this one and Chibnall's last, because he says a series a year is too hard. The unsubstantiated rumour further goes that Jodie, Bradley and Tosin have all said they'll go with him

Tom Chaney

Back when I assumed capitalism was going to be the villain I thought it might have scanned the Doctor's anti-authority leanings and placed her at the bottom of the ladder to minimise damage, but yours is way better

Tom Chaney

Oddly brief usage of the brand name guest star

Tom Chaney

Trenzalore sounds like a london underground station that was shut down in the 1950's.

Tomasz Skowron

I was loving it but the ending completely fucked it for me, honestly.

A Sleepy Lesbean

I actually LOL'd at that one.

Soronlin

the best joke for me was when the old kerblam! said to the doctor "for people with your condition we recommend high blood pressure pills" or something to the like of that

Thomas Ferreira

There's an interesting foreshadowing that I and probably most people missed. Why did the system allocate the Doctor to the maintenance department? That makes no sense whatsoever if it's doing more than randomly allocating them, in which case it wouldn't have needed to scan them. So the system suspected that the janitor was the guilty party and put the most intelligent and capable person there. (In fact it knows about the Doctor, so puts her there.) It could have done with a line of dialogue from the Doctor apologising to Graham and remarking that she hadn't expected to be given that job.

I don't know about a podcast app, but there is is a link to the raw MP3 file that you can download

Josh Heape

Really enjoyed this episode although the twist and the end was poorly done

GamerGeorgeXl

Is there a way to add these to my podcast app on Android? The Patreon player sucks

Michael Preston

Top episode, really liked all the references to past doctors and episodes. It had a really good feel as well. PS. The friends monopoly piece for Chandler is his sweater vest which he wore all the time

Lucie Spiler

This is my favourite episode of Doctor Who ever. On first viewing it was probably a 9/10 for me, but I re-watched it, and I noticed so many clever but subtle details. The scene after Daniel disappears, Charlie meets Graham with a cloth, and cleaner in his hands. Graham wants to shake his hand, but Charlie says no, using an excuse of just cleaning the toilets. This scene takes place after he had handled the test bubble wrap to kill Daniel. His hands were dirty both figuratively and literally.

Rice Box

Really enjoyed it. The most doctor who doctor who so far. A couple of kinks that needed ironing but easily my fave sci-fi episode this season

Stan Gaskell

They kept bringing up 10% of the workforce being people... I assumed it would turn out that 10% of each robot was harvested from former employees.

Neil Marshall

Sooo.. When's this good place podcast coming? Loving Mike's echo chamber.

Ben Chilcott

10 from me
