Hi Dan I hope you’re feeling better next week, and in a better state of mind. If you think America is in the uncanny valley, try seeing it from a Canadian perspective. This is off topic, but you enjoy cooking, and I thought a recipe might give you a change of pace and a chance to relax. I was listening to your early podcasts, and you mentioned not being able to find a good vegetarian mince. My cheap substitution for beef and pork is: 1/2 lb diced mushrooms, 2 tbsp each vegetable oil & water, 1 tbsp each miso paste, soy sauce & nutritional yeast, 1 tsp black pepper. Put mushrooms in a bowl with lid. Mix all other ingredients together, pour on mushrooms, shake bowl until mushrooms are all coated. Leave in fridge for 2 hours, shake once or twice during that time(You can skip this step if you’re in a rush). Cook on frying pan on medium-low heat with lid on for 5 minutes, then remove lid & cook until the liquid is evaporated, stirring mushrooms regularly. It also works for ‘not-vegetarian but on a budget’ cooks; just mix the cooked mixture 50/50 with the meat a couple minutes before the meat is finished to cut down on the meat needed for a recipe.

just though id suggest something to maybe improve the masterchef streams, add a timer to your screen that you start each episode so people who cant watch it through twitch can watch by using their own copy to sync to the timer and still be able to participate.

That phrase just evokes such an image in my mind...anyways, I'm sorry you're not doing well. These things are always difficult to live through, and with seasonal depression just around the corner for many of us I'm sure that makes it that much harder. Also with what you've said about the Hogwarts game, the problem with the "Rowling won't get much money from it" ideology is that this game, to the gaming industry, will represent how important it is for companies to be pro trans, and if this game sells well it will be evidence to WB and others that people will buy their shit even if its tied to a Transphobe, so being pro-trans won't be profitable to them anymore

They made us clap for the NHS at work in the supermarket i work in, whilst refusing to give us any kind of bonus or pay rise for having to work through Covid, but its okay cause they gave us free sandwiches. God I hate capitalism.

The masterchef streams have been fan-bloody-tastic and are my favourite parts of the week cause it feels so relaxing and fun to just watch the show and listen to your valid reactions to the bat-shit crazy things chat ends up saying.
