Have you ever played with a Ouija Board?

Comments

I wouldn't say "play with" however, I have used Spirit boards for divination purposes to heighten my intuition, not for necromancy or calling a dead person. I was invited to an acquaintances home to contact, what she thought was, a little girl ghost, she called "Sally" (so original i know). Things happened, and the other folks there all seemed very enamored. I am a practitioner of occult disciplines, with divination and natural magick as my best skills. I have been debating weather or not to share my stories (I just have 2 or 3) with Hannah.

I had a horrific experience as a middle schooler- something reached out from the board pretending to be my dad who passed when I was a baby. Cue absolute hysterics and one of the girls burning the board. In hindsight, it was probably me subconsciously moving the planchette but it was a formative memory.

I'd like to if I could contact my older sister's spirit but coming from a Christian upbringing I still have anxiety over "demons"

My grandma and her three granddaughters (myself, my sister, and my cousin) have always had an interest in ouija and have played with one multiple times. We’ve communed with spirits.

I just did a "oui-ja" night with friends and I was surprised to see the board move. However I am a skeptic and I can see the board moving as some sort of "collective knowledge" in play. As soon as the board moved, most of it was predictable and my friends and I had a pretty good idea of where it when. The only odd thing was a spirit not wanting to say good bye until I told them that I had sage and protections, then the "spirit" moved the board to the goodbye sign. At the end of this experience I am still a skeptic and I believe the board moving was just a collective action that satisfied the answers we wanted to have. Any factual evidence that some of these spirits gave were fake (one pretended to be a serial killer and all the info we got as not real anyway) but I can see how some people could link coincidences to real things and it's definitely an experience that rely a lot on confirmation biases.

i always thought i’d want to, but then one time my friends got one and invited me and i just.. i couldn’t. i’m a skeptic but the possibility of what if is enough to stop me. if these spirits/ghosts/entities are real, and if ouija boards really do connect us to them, i do NOT want to fuck around and find out

Can you move it to another room? I know it may be psychosomatic but it couldn't hurt! I moved my Ouija board from my rat's room while they were here because I was convinced it was giving them bad juju lol. Even if it was in my head, I figured moving it downstairs wouldn't hurt, so I did.

No: am a sceptic and cant really be bothered going out of my way for it. But wouldn't say no if someone asked me to join in. I wouldn't want to be a dick and if I could get myself into the spirit it may be fun.

My friend and I were about 8 and the only dead people we could think of were my great grandparents and her recently deceased bowling coach so naturally we tried to communicate with her bowling coach. 😂 Unsuccessful

I have a ouija board i keep under my bed (insane) and my brother found it in a dungeon like area and gave it to me. Everytime I open the box I have nightmares which is probably just psychological but I haven't slept well since I got it and I see things that aren't there often.

I had a Oujia board in middle school - just a store bought, Mattel (Hasbro?) version. My grandmother was old school Pennsylvania Dutch; very religious and VERY superstitious. When she found out I had a Oujia board, she freaked. I would have to put it in our garage before she would come into our house. (This is the same woman who told us, as kids, that if we played with a deck of playing cards, we would see the devil looking at us through the window. 😂 RIP, Grandma.) My friends and I were using the board at a sleepover in 8th grade. We were asking the board when each of us would die. (Fun sleepover, right?) we were all getting dates far, far into the future. Except for one. One of my friends got a date that was only a few years away. One of the girls who was there that night ended up passing away when we were 19 or 20. For the life of me, I can’t remember who got the closest date that night or what year it told us. But when I heard of her passing, that night with the Oujia board was my first thought.
