Really, the story for the kids is just beginning. I hope they make Kevin take ALLLLL kinds of therapy before he’s allowed to “discipline” those kids at all, given how utterly disturbing his actions were before they even separated.

2024-04-01 03:17:14 +0000 UTCAfter reading Ruby's timeline I can't help but fear of her ever being around another child ever again , if someone could flip to seeing the error of her ways that quickly I think she's just to impressionable and clearly derived pleasure from causing her children pain infact seemed disappointed that she should couldn't inflict more pain and suffering on her own children ? How could she see the loss of bladder and bowel control the acts of the devil ? How could she see them as evil yet Jodi smelled horrible (according to Kevin) and she found nothing wrong with her odor yet her children were devil spawn ? Both her and Jodi are just to warped and sadistic to ever believe redeemable . I try to be optimistic but a ten year old banging her head on the concrete floor is permanently damaged even concentration camp survivors are permanently damaged from abuse that doesn't reach these levels .

I know it’s not really a thing, but there’s something in the dynamics of both cases that has me thinking. If there’s an extremely enmeshed couple, in which each individual carries one or two of the traits, ‘complementing’ each other, can we talk about a situational/relational three-legged stool..?

2024-03-23 18:50:40 +0000 UTCI understand the taboo situation with Kevin, but hearing him say EXACTLY the same thing Adam Paul Steed has warned us of Jodi’s signature MO - vilifying the father of the household and making the mother and children of the home turn against him - it was jolting: (After saying he respected both Jodi and Ruby’s methodologies) “Mr. Franke stated he did not treat his wife right and struggle with a pornography addiction, which led to them separating with a verbal no-contact order.”

He brings up his addictions to p right out the gate and he seems frighteningly convinced that he was the problem. As his interview continues it seems to wash over him especially when he’s left alone. He really is shocked by all this. He absolutely loves Ruby. Healthy or unhealthy he loves her. Wow, I feel better about him. I pray he is getting the right help now. I can’t wait for Dr J to dissect this 😊 His focus is her. His priorities are off. The kids should be front and center. This is all so unbelievable.

I speculate she wasn't afraid of police, she was afraid to move because of jody and ruby. She probably thought police would punish her. These poor children will need so much help.

2024-03-23 13:02:07 +0000 UTCI also wanted to add that I noticed when the little girl was refusing medical services she said to the police that she didn't want to go to the hospital as they'd "Give her a vaccine that would kill her". I admire you both so much and understand why you might not want to delve into what is a total landmine, but I don't think you can overestimate enough the role radical political Qanon type beliefs play in both this case and Daybell. They both descend into ludicrous "Sovereign citizen" conspiracy beliefs that cut them off from both larger society and family and friends. Ruby even references this in her statement to the court. (Not that I believe she has been deprogrammed from it all)

2024-03-23 08:13:07 +0000 UTCAs someone with CPTSD from neglect and abuse, what sticks out to me is the internalized shame and blame the children felt. That is not something that ever leaves you. These kids will need INTENSIVE therapy, not for a short time, but for the rest of their lives to undo the damage that has been done. I hope Jodi is made to hand over every damn cent of her money so these kids can get the help they need. I am 55 yrs old & still blaming myself and have a hard time admitting that what I experienced was abuse and it was NOWHERE NEAR what these poor, dear, kids have had to deal with. It's hard for anyone to get the depression, substance abuse, etc etc etc that comes with abuse. jail is not enough for Ruby and Jodi.

These kids would have died in the Arizona desert and they would have blamed the devil. Just garbage. Also, Jodi is a coward. Jessi was correct when they said Jodi would try to manipulate you. She was doing it in her police interview.

It boggles my brain, not only that she can feel justified in doing this to children, but that she can enlist other adults to follow her. I agree. I feel anger as well.
