Ugh, it's been years since I watched this movie, it was so good to watch it again with your reaction. :D The animation was stunning when it first came out, and I gotta say, it would still be stunning if it came out today - it's held up remarkably well for being over a decade old. I never read the books (I was more of a Warriors girl - but it got me my job that I adore, so I can't complain ;) ), and I have friends who were fans of the books who don't like this movie because apparently it's not that faithful to the books or adapts it poorly. But honestly, I could care less because this movie is *gorgeous*, just absolutely stunning to watch. But besides the movie itself, my favorite thing about the Guardians series is the tie-in video game that came out alongside this movie. It's one of the few games I still use my old Wii to play, and while the graphics aren't as good as the movie's and it's way too short, it's honestly one of my favorite games purely from a gameplay stand, because it has some of the best and most engaging flight controls and simulation I've ever found in a game. You control your owl's flight by tilting the Wiimote, you pick up speed by flying down, you can do barrel rolls and hold hot coals in your talons to launch as projectiles, you fight Pure Ones and bats and other flying enemies in the three-dimensional battlefield in the air with some really awesome fight mechanics... honestly, I could ramble on about this game for ages, I adore it. Really the only problem I have with it is that it's too short. I'd give anything to have someone just make a full, Skyrim or Dragon Age style RPG out of that game. Or for someone to port it onto the Switch so I don't have to drag out my old Wii every time I want to play it. :P
