Kroashent Sketch Event

1. Each time I work on a sketch event on the Kroashent Discord, I include a  super-deformed "Chibi" drawing as a "Title Card".  With January's theme  being Kroashent, I decided to draw a cute version of the Golden Tower  herself, Lady Enora de Chinon, Captain of the Radiant Dawn.

2. For Miner-Wars,  their character Claire Setsuko Rose, transforming into a dragoness after finding a cursed medallion.  With original characters, I wanted to take some steps to "adapt" them to the feel and themes of Alvez, which proved the most challenging aspect of Claire.  From what I could tell, she's something of a hunter, so I changed her modern gear and clothing to something more in keeping with the high fantasy setting. I still have a lot of lore in progress for the dragon that I can't quite share yet, but keep an eye here or on my Worldanvil for that.  Compared to other transformations, Draconic transformations are fairly rare in Alvez, despite the ample art to the contrary!

3. Another Dragon sketch for the Kroashent sketch event, this time  featuring the Pilhaouer merchant Cristal, already on the receiving end  of a curse, finding out that sometimes magical effects can stack.  I've  drawn Cristal before, an interesting commission of a character design  within the setting of Alvez.  You can check out that here:  https://www.deviantart.com/kathalia/art/Commission-The-Cauldron-of-Sena-TFTG-859710673

4. I had a little bit of fun with this one at the requester's expense.  Raichumorph's request: "Kath dared Gwae to try and lift her sword. It's not going well."  Kathalia's sword is an arming sword, which at the time of Kroashent, is something closer to a side-arm compared to heavier blades.  Medieval blades were forged so that they were lightweight and balanced, so that an armoured combatant could swing them around for long periods of time without getting tired.  As such, Kathalia's sword only ways about a kilogram (~2.5 lbs), allowing Gwae to lift the sword without much fuss.  In contrast, Gwae's own staff weighs about 2 kg, meaning her own weapon is heavier!  What Gwae will not lift however, is Kathalia's dagger, an iron blade called a Windknife.  Even though she can handle it without touching the metal, iron makes her uncomfortable, so she doesn't like interacting with it.

5. For bionicdragoon, an Arkanist's apprentice experiences a shift in their training regimen, transformed into a female drake and quickly giving into her new feral instincts...  There are several types of draconic races in Alvez.  Drakes are reptilian creatures distantly related to True Dragons. Largely feral, they are aggressively territorial and difficult to tame. They can be employed as guardians for their nasty temperament, but this can backfire if someone's own people get to close, as they are not picky about who they attack. They can vomit poison, but lack the pure elemental magik of their distant cousins.
