Travelling Trip

I was the last days in Iraq and in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. It was an amazing adventure and an awesome trip. I had the possibility to join a cultural project with a small group of other people from different universities. Meeting lot's of other students, profs and getting to see the country.
I had a total different picture of this country at first, based of the media I knew. It very much changed in how I see the beautiful mountain region in Kurdistan. It's all so green and not everything is a big desert in how I imagined it to be. :D
One of my personal highlights was to visit Mosul. A huge city which some of you may know from it's dark history. A few years ago there were lot's of fights with isis. The city was totally destructed and now the people try to build it up again. We got a little tour to the most destroyed part of the city. It was for me somehow surreal to see it, just imagining that currently other countries are at war and this is how it looks like... It even smelled still burned after all this year. I just hope that the people can get back to a normal life. (The unesco is currently there to help to build up the city again).
In general all people we met were super sweet and nice to us. We could talk about everything and have an exchange about how we live in our countries, about politics, religion and just some animes we liked. :D
I'm really thankful that I could be part of it.
