The Late Roman military belt
Added 2023-01-13 13:45:06 +0000 UTCIt's a race against time. We are busy preparing for a new video recording next month. The video is about a different era than what you are used to from us, namely the Late Roman era.
Since we don't have any equipment from a soldier from that century yet... we have to work to get it done as soon as possible.
The Late Romans looked completely different from, for example, the Romans in the first century AD.
The borders of the Roman Empire slowly crumbled. Christianity was on the rise amongst the Romans. And there was war on every corner of the Empire. As a result, equipment was made in simple ways to keep up with the mass production.
I started with a military belt. As you can see it is a simple belt with a buckle and a cingulum amphora piece.
