Salvete Patreons,
In preparation for the Warrior series about a Late Roman Comitatenses (former legionair soldier), we made a Thorsberg type trousers.
In the first picture, you see us wearing the trousers. Evidence has been found mainly in frescoes that the color of the trousers worn by soldiers were blue or red. The same goes for the military tunics.
These trousers were a challenge to make. A lot of patience and skill was required. The trousers consist of several parts that are sewn together. The trousers should be fitted tight, like a skinny jeans. The back at the calfs are open to get your foot into the attached sock. The open hole is tied with strings.
The last image shows a funny scene of a Late Roman fresco. It probably depicts a soldier who has come from the bathhouse or has just washed his clothes. This fresco shows a nice depiction of a Thorsberg-like type of trousers hanging over his soldier.
Let us know if you would wear these trousers nowadays to work? (hahaha)
