I'm readlistening to a Fantasy novel for the first time in seven years, since losing enough of my eyesight to not be able to read books anymore. I tried a historical novel or two during that time, and found I couldn’t remember names when I only heard them spoken, so I always got lost half a book in. I'm also a very analytic reader. I’ll go back and reread passages when I feel they might become important later, which is extremely tedious in an audiobook. So I mostly stuck to non-novels.

Now my daughter devoured Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series over the summer, and she told me ALL about it as she always does. I knew I’d love Kaladin, and much to her delight, I downloaded the first audiobook (45 hours) and started listening. I got frustrated about an hour in. So the absolute best of daughters sat down and composed a full reader with maps, names, sketches, summaries, and reminders to keep me going, as well as standing by whenever I have a question or need a reminder. I’m now eight hours in and OH MY DO I LOVE KALADIN. I haven’t enjoyed a Fantasy novel as much since A Game Of Thrones.
