SandStorm - Status 2022 #06

Hello everyone

The poll for the development priority for the next months was pretty clear : You prefer to see SandStorm get finished first. So... that's what will happen ;).

Without further ado, below the current status on the paths that are left.

- Ending L: Script 90% - Coding 90% - Rendering 80% - Animations 0%

- Ending N: Script 30% - Coding 30% - Rendering 30% - Animations 0%

- Ending R: Script 30% - Coding 30% - Rendering 30% - Animations 0%

- Ending T: Script 90% - Coding 90% - Rendering 80% - Animations 0%

- Ending ? : ??%

To sum up, endings L and T are pretty well advanced, I only have all the animations left to do. I plan to make those endings playable next week for fan tiers (v0.9.7).
They represent the follow up on the escape routes with Rion or Rion+Nora.
In the same time, v0.9.5 will become available to all patrons.

I'll make another post this week end, with some preview renders.

Instead, in this post, I want to make an important poll about Maddie.

Currently, she doesn't have an escape route unlike the 2 other girls. Because of Maddie's adventurer side, it didn't feel natural to make her character give up on this mystery at some point, especially this close to the goal. That's why M is her only path (not counting the bad endings). That said, for those who care more about Maddie than the global adventure, it could be a bit sad.

Therefore, I open the possibility to add an alternative ending for Maddie, which will happen after the dream with a certain god, and before crossing a certain gate. The player will need to be very convincing though to change Maddie's mind. Obviously it would be a happier ending with Maddie, but the end of the erastorm mystery.

The downside is that it will add some developpement time and delay SnowStorm a bit (by a week or two, I guess), and maybe that ending will not feel the most natural for Maddie, but anyway it's just an alternative after all.

Therefore, the question is simple: Should I make that 10th ending "escape with Maddie" ?
