The Week(s) That W(ere)as: 11/15 - 11/26/2021

Greetings, Nextlanders! If you are in the US, I hope you've been having yourself a good holiday weekend, and if you aren't, I hope you are about to have yourself a good normal weekend! You may have noticed that I didn't post one of these last week. I would have, but the Guardians video Vinny and I did waaaaaaay back last Tuesday took a while to go through Youtube's licensed music stripper. Apparently four minutes of Loverboy is an illegal amount of Loverboy in the US. But now that's live, and it's time to catch you up on EVERYTHING we've posted over the last couple of weeks. And with a few days left on this long weekend, there's no better time to get caught up on all the stuff you missed!

Xbox 20th Anniversary Stream and Halo Infinite Multiplayer

If you're wondering if I have the ability to remember what we did all the heck way back last Monday, that's a fair concern. But I do remember! We checked out that Xbox 20th anniversary stream, played a little backward compatible Otogi and Burnout, and were joined  by 343's David Ellis to play some Halo Infinite multiplayer! Hah! Take that everyone who doubted the recall ability of my perpetually jumbled brain!

Very Vinny Mornings: Guardians of the Galaxy

All Vinny and I wanted to do was play a little Guardians of the Galaxy. Neither of us foresaw a scenario in which Youtube had to try to pluck out whole minutes of "Turn Me Loose" just to get the archive unblocked in the US. Listen, it's our fault for stubbornly not wanting to turn on streamer mode, but when you have a soundtrack this good, everyone should be able to experience it!

Weekly Ramblecast 023: Below the Water Table

On LAST week's Ramblecast, we discuss ideal shelving situations for classic consoles, imagine what it might be like if Vinny and I were literal neighbors, consider just how deep the void at the center of billionaires might be, and hope and dream for the day in the distant future when we all just become crabs.

The Nextlander Podcast 024: Alex's Over-the-Hill Pills

On LAST week's podcast, we took you through our very good time with Halo Infinite's multiplayer, our considerably less good time through Battlefield 2042's multiplayer, and the rollercoaster ride that is the Grand Theft Auto Definitive Editions. Plus, Brad sits down to chat with Xbox's Jason Ronald to talk backward compatibility!

Brad Goes VR in Resident Evil 7 -- Part 05
Brad Goes VR in Resident Evil 7 -- Part 06

Over the course of the last week, Brad managed to work his way through the final beats of Resident Evil 7's main story. Much time is spent wandering around on a dilapidated boat, incredible truths are uncovered as we discover the secret of Eveline's existence, and Important Choices get made that definitely do not come back to haunt anyone. Now, onto the DLC!

Nextlander's Friday Stream with Backward Compatible Xbox 360 Games

For last week's closeout stream, we dug into some of the newly added backward compatible 360 titles to the Series X library. I went ahead and did something I should have done a long time ago and bought Binary Domain, while Brad and Vinny dug out their copies of F.E.A.R. 2 and Oblivion. Plus, like five minutes of Kameo: Elements of Power!

Patron Q&A 005: November 2021

On this month's patron Q&A we answer your burning questions, such as what it would take to get Vinny to set fire to his beloved Transformers collection, which side of the great egg nog debate we all fall on, our most vital home office upgrades, and what this year's Game of the Year biz might look like.

Weekly Ramblecast 024: Restore the Cord!

On THIS week's Ramblecast, we go deep on grandma's fruitcakes, bathroom cleaning techniques, why anyone would invest in a dedicated portable audio player in 2021, the follies of cable management, and the mildly bumpy career of Kevin Costner.

The Nextlander Podcast 025: Three Kinds of Foul

Hard to believe we've already come to 25 episodes of the Nextlander Podcast. Feels like just yesterday we were wringing hands about when to post episode 0 and whether anyone would be excited for yet another video game podcast. We're happy you've taken the journey with us so far, and here's to 2500 more episodes in the future. As for this week's show, once we get all the turducken talk out of the way, we touch on Exo One and Next Space Rebels for a bit, before talking about some of the games we're adamant about finishing before we get to the end of the year.

Nextlander Makes an Explosive Return to Scrap Mechanic!

While I was hitting the road back to California for the holiday, Brad and Vinny managed to squeeze in one more stream, this time returning to the challenges of Scrap Mechanic. While I don't believe they have finished off the last of the challenges just yet, sounds like they made some progress, and created some genuine monstrosities in the process!

And that was the week! Weeks! Plural! Thank you to everyone out there who supports us, be it through patreon, through twitch, via youtube, or just by listening to the podcast. We could not continue to do this without you. Have yourselves a great rest of your weekend, and we'll see you on Monday! (Or, well, Brad and Vinny will, I'll see you all on Tuesday!)
