The Week That Was: 09/27 - 10/01/2021
Added 2021-10-02 21:22:43 +0000 UTCHello everyone, and a happy spooky October to everyone who celebrates! This is the best month of the year, hands down. Autumn is fully on, leaves turning brown, hoodie appropriate temperatures, and of course, a healthy dollop of horror themed things. I don't usually do the 31 days of horror movies thing, mostly because my partner would go nuts if I tried to inflict that on her, but I've definitely got a handful of movies and shows lined up that I'm looking forward to checking out, as well as my usual Garth Marenghi's Darkplace rewatch. If you've never seen that show before, it's on Amazon streaming now in the US, and it is very much in the running for funniest show I've ever seen. It is the Black Dynamite of fake low budget supernatural television shows.
Anyway, hope you're all having a good weekend, and if by some chance you happened to miss some of our content from the last week and want to catch up, this is an extremely handy place in which to do that!

Brad and Vinny Race to the Death(s) in Hitman -- Part 01
To kick things off this week, we launched a long-discussed marathon race through every map in the most recent Hitman trilogy. Through our first episode, Brad and Vinny have worked their way through the first four maps in Hitman (2016), and the times are astoundingly close!

Alex and Vinny Play Life Is Strange: True Colors -- Part 03
A few very heavy moments come to pass in this latest episode of our True Colors playthrough, but the grimness of those situations is alleviated somewhat every time someone brings up this big LARP coming up.

Weekly Ramblecast 016 - The Cost of Doing Business (with Adam Sandler)
On this week's show dedicated to rambling, I recount my tale of attending AEW's Grand Slam taping at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, Vinny puts the finishing touches on Kirby's dog house, and we discuss a magical fruit that at least one person on this podcast (me) didn't know existed.

The Nextlander Podcast 017: The Prototypical Hoth Level
On this week's show, we find ourselves lost in Death Stranding's America once again, we dabble in Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Hot Wheels: Unleashed, and we wonder aloud what it's going to take to get a good remaster of Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire. Justice for Dash Rendar!

Patron Q&A 003: September 2021
Just under the wire, we squeeze in September's patron Q&A and answer a wide variety of questions from you, the consumer! These include what kind of video game tattoos we'd consider getting, who the best Beastie Boy is, what kinds of horrible airport stories we have, and reveal the secret of that spectrogram banner we use in a bunch of places.

Full Motion Vinny: Ripper -- Part 05
I won't lie, it was deeply discouraging to lose a bunch of progress in this episode to a game crash--and, if we're being honest, our absentmindedness around saving-- but believe me when I say that when we get to the part that has us making the faces in the above promo image, that discouragement ENTIRELY dissipates.

Patron's Choice for September: Forewarned with Abby Russell!
Our Mission Control and Mysterious Benefactor patrons voted, and they wanted us to check out Forewarned, a game that is basically Phasmophobia but in Egyptian tombs. Abby Russell joins us, and we have a very good time trying to figure out which monstrous entity is currently killing us.

And that was the week! We'll be back on Monday with more shows, more podcasts, and all that fun junk! Thank you as always for your continued support, as we quite literally could not do this without all of you.

“Well, what would help me most right now is if you could whack a Brillo round this mug, other wise it will stain!” I have recently got into Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place, that show and it’s amazing!
