Weekly Ramblecast 075: Garfunkel Pops

It's hard to escape the gravitational pull of the Twitter black hole, but we try our best by also talking about extravagant Internet connections, Daria's relative gothiness, that jerk Paul Simon, redoing your own Rhodes piano (in red elephant Tolex!), and more.

Comments

I'm even further behind on Ramblecasts (get them a week late because I'm Ground Supporrt, and a busy work week has made me fall behind on podcast listening), but I've got to get in some facts: Mike Judge had nothing to do with the Daria series. Yes she originated on Beavis & Butt-Head, but she was created by another writer on the show, who in turn spun her off into her own series. As far as I know, every episode available, be it on the DVD releases or streaming, have had their music replaced by in-house music (save for a couple episodes where the music is more incorporated into things and is barely heard). Also, Daria and Jane are indeed not goths.

Alex’s comment on how social media is just forum culture introduced to the masses is spot on. I wish I thought of it.
