Comments

Drew asked if this was the first West German film dealing with World War II, I believe that would have been 1959's The Bridge which deals with the waning days of the war when the Nazis are posting child soldiers to assignments with minimal training and supervision. Criterion put out a great edition of it recently so it's pretty easy to find. One actor I identified immediately in this movie was Günter Lamprecht, the Captain hanging out in luxury in Spain, who was in a bunch of Rainer Werner Fassbinder films including one I hope you all check out, World on a Wire. A great SciFi flick that unfortunately had a pretty mediocre American remake in the mid-90s called the Thirteenth Floor.

Overall general comment. Alex or editor in question. The movie lines etc that are included are so flipping perfect. Kudos production landers 🥰
