Watchcast Schedule for September 2022

Greetings everyone! Before I disappear into doing mostly nothing for the next week, wanted to make sure everyone knew about what we've got coming up this month on the Nextlander Watchcast so y'all can watch along. Here's what's on the slate:

September 5th: Star Trek: Dagger of the Mind and The Corbomite Maneuver

Dagger of the Mind: Kirk investigates an experimental facility for holding prisoners and finds a sinister scheme. Also, first canonical appearance of the Vulcan mind meld!

The Corbomite Maneuver: The Enterprise encounters a vast alien ship that sets out to test them. Featuring one of the wilder late-episode guest stars you'll ever see on one of these shows.

September 12th: Predator (1987)

Our good friend and noted Schwarzenegger scholar Dan Ryckert will be joining us on this month's movie entries, kicking off with this action sci-fi classic that somehow Brad had never seen up to this point. Finally he will know the origin of "RAAAAHHHHN. GET TO ZA CHOPPPAAAAHHH".

September 19th: Star Trek: The Cage and The Menagerie Parts I & II

We're going in for a rare triple-dip for this week's Star Trek watch, as we'll be rewinding back in time a bit to watch the original unaired pilot The Cage, and then jumping over to the two-part episode The Menagerie, which recycles a bunch of stuff from The Cage. I promise it'll all make sense when you watch 'em.

September 26th: Predator 2 (1990)

Los Angeles has never looked sweatier than it does in this frequently questionable, but still periodically entertaining sequel starring Danny Glover as an LA cop who both hunts, and is hunted by, the latest predator to hit Earth on a quest for cool skulls.

And those are the September flicks and shows! Want to also mention that this month's Star Trek episodes will be the last for a bit, as October is gonna be reserved for some Halloweeny movies. That said. we'll be returning to Star Trek for the entire month of November to catch back up, and then we'll resume our usual alternating schedule in December. That's all the housekeeping I've got.
