Comments

Are we talking regular ceramic coffee mugs? Any time I get a mug now, it just ends up in the trash. They seem impractical with so many options available that keep your drink hot or cold for long periods of time.

Some additional context for that insane Luka trade: the NBA Commissioner has the right to intervene when proposed trades seem particularly crazy, but he didn't have any problem with this one. My money's on him making the bet that sending a young superstar to the huge LA market (that will likely lose LeBron after the next year or so) was more valuable than devastating the Dallas market. And yeah, maybe if things get bad enough, the NBA will finally have a reason to send a team to Vegas. (There's also talk of Adelson trying to use this as leverage to get gambling/casinos made legal in Texas, but I don't think the Texas brand of oligarch would ever agree to anything so "sinful".)

I think it’s hilarious how pitbulls are called “velvet hippos” by the pitbull-loving crowd.

Alex mostly nailed the nba stuff. Where he was off is that Luka lands between 2nd-4th best nba player. He is not good defensively, but he's: 6'7, an amazing passer, eliete rebounder for his size and position, incredible scorer. He gets his shot whenever he wants it in clutch moments. He has made like 5 straight nba 1st teams, its absurd. The reason fans are mad is it made no sense to not shop him around and instead trade for an injury prone 32 year old guy and they didn't even get the other best assests the lakers had. This trade was so bad, it makes tin foil hat conspiricy theories seem rational.

If you don't follow basketball, imagine this: You have a team led by in his prime Michael Jordan, who goes to the finals but loses. Then, you retool/get different players around him, and come back the next season with the idea that you are new and improved and believe yourself in a better position to win the championship then last season. Finally, before you can find out whether you can actually win the championship or not, you trade Michael Jordan without telling anyone including Michael Jordan. I'm not saying he for sure is going to be the next Jordan but he has the potential to be or at the very least a legendary player.
