Schedule for the Week of 03/03/2025
Added 2025-03-03 20:14:01 +0000 UTC
Here we are in March, and I talk about it on the Ramblecast this week, but it seems more important than ever to have spaces and activities that allow you to find a bit of inner peace. I’ve never been great at meditation, and exercise works but it’s, you know, still exercise. What I usually need to do is build, construct, or make something to quiet some of the noise in my head. That’s been tough with a lot of my tools, paints, etc, packed up while our family tries to (someday) begin renovating our basement. Luckily, I find that same “Satisfaction” with factory games and even writing code, so I’ve been doing a lot of that lately.
I also find peace in joining Brad and Will in Void Crew and we’ll be doing that on Monday! You know what’s also my Happy Place? Hanging out with Abby and Alex on Tuesday to play some Lost Records and possibly get back to The Roottrees. You know what’s sometimes not a calming, sanguine experience? Volgarr! Brad and Patrick will be continuing and possibly completing their journey this Friday. Oh, and we’ll get back to X-Files soon, don’t worry!
Over on the podcast side of things we’ve The Watchcast and we’ll be kicking off our Dystopian Cities month with Brazil! We’ll also have the Ramblecast, Podcast, and even a Planorama this week. If you missed it, don’t forget to check out the latest Never Been a Better Podcast from last Friday!
Lastly, Mike Mahardy and I have been playing Total War: Warhammer III together and the first episode of our “Good” campaign is now up at the Fire Escape Patreon. The first episode of our “EVIL” campaign will be going up next week here on the Nextlander Patreon, so all your bases should be covered!

On this week’s Watchcast we’re kicking off our month of Weird-Ass Dystopian Cities with Terry Gilliam’s satirical nightmare, Brazil! Join us as we pick apart this strange world of failing systems and bureaucratic ass-covering, which absolutely holds no similarity to the real world in which we live. Heh. Heh.

2025-03-05 16:15:02 +0000 UTCVinny: Zach Barth (of Zachtronics) announced a new game and it’s about designing production lines for consumer products in 1980 Japan. What caught my eye is that they show off putting together Transformer-esque robots. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2275490/Kaizen_A_Factory_Story/
