Oh man Repo Men is great

Always wanted to see this, nice to finally sit down for it. Really fun movie with some awesome scenes. And boy, we need an Angelinaissance. She shows up for 10 minutes, owns the entire movie with brilliant Jude Law chemistry, then flies off. Instant charisma, instantly takes charge, just a powerhouse. She's also one of the best parts of Eternals. I know the Tomb Raider movies are bad but time to watch them again, I guess. Since her image is one of the main parts of the marketing, I was shocked how she's basically a cameo.

Now I want to pursue a writer/director career just to make Sky Captain and the Hand of Death a real movie, or the alternatively titled Sky Captain 2: This Time, It’s Practical

Forrest Sarles

incredible opening 😂

Vinny's voicing the same Jude Law sentiment I had for years, he's a literal class act-or

Viddy

Oh also Jude Law was in a fantastic HBO Max miniseries a couple years back called The Third Day. Might be my favorite thing he’s ever done and no one talked about it.

Giovanni Ribisi’s mom was one of the bigger Scientology recruiters in Hollywood for a while. She was a well connected acting manager who would funnel potential clients into the church. I don’t know what she’s up to these days. Looks like she still reps Elizabeth Moss and Scott Adkins but that’s it? I know she was the one who got Jason Lee’s career off the ground back when he was a Scientologist.

The only two things I remember about this is Angelina Jolie with an eyepatch in a British zeppelin and thinking neither the P-40 or anyone would survive hitting the water at that angle or speed.

Giiovanni Ribisi also does work as a Director of Photography. Go watch "Strange Darling" if you haven't already.

Raymond Terry

Ribisi was the Director of Photography for Strange Darling from 2024.

Hopefully the 2025 of Tomorrow (today) will fair better than this

Zeemod

Haha they totally have the same conversation I had with myself about that.

Man as a fan and cosplayer of steampunk, I really tried to convince myself of the positive aspects of this back when I first saw it. Technically this would be more diesel punk, approaching atom punk with some of the robot if you were to get into subgenres but I admire all those anachronistic ____-punk subtypes. I do accept that its VERY flawed. I can admire the attempt to make it like a 1930's serial adventure with each scene being wildly different. But it also makes everything just feel ADHD when stitched together. And yeah, the sepia smear...

Michael Jacobson

Don’t know if they’ll mention this but I couldn’t help but think that this looks like a 2004 PS2 game or an early XBox 360 game. Same color palette, same weird “this lens is covered in Vaseline” look.

Michael Polston

I watched that new movie The Order last night and Jude Law was fantastic as the lead FBI agent.
