Hope you're doing fine, today is Monday and here is a very ugly Monday so what If we make it a bit better, eh?
We had a very busy weekend working on this second unit for this August Release, the Black Riders! We would lie to you if we told you we don't like to make these kind of miniatures, 50% fantasy 50% realistic.
The Black Riders are based on the famous Reiters, a classic firearm cavalry unit from the Renaissance, but re-designed with our fantasy approach! The unit is composed of six miniatures, five pistoleers and one soldier with an arquebus, and three interchangeable horses.
The pistoleers have modular hands, so you can use any of the two available pistols with one or three barrels, and modular heads, so you can use any of the Arquebusiers Unit heads or the heads from the Sunland Imperial Troops from the June 2021 Release (https://www.patreon.com/posts/sunland-imperial-52069019). We’ll try to make all the Empire of Sun troops with compatible pieces, like heads or weapons.
We’ve just finished these miniatures a few hours ago so they’ll be pre-supported in a few days. We’re finishing the printing test for the Arquebusiers, so they’ll be ready very very soon! 💥
But remember! The August Release isn’t over yet. The big surprise is coming! 👏🏾

2021-08-10 15:04:53 +0000 UTCYou could scale it down in blender and attach the smoke to the gun so that you don't have to print in separate pieces. The software is free, just import the STLs you want, smash them together and then export the result as an STL and its ready for your normal preparations in Lychee/Chitubox

We usually mantain a 'low level' of modularity (swappable hands/heads) because doing it in that way allow us to create more interesting and dynamic miniatures. I think most of the companys out there are going further in that kind of modularity (or not modularity at all) to create better miniatures. It would be nice to try some day to create a full modular miniature, like the old core units from GW a decade ago. :)
