Ezekiel, the Lord Necromancer in Flying Monster!

Hope you have had a great start of the week! Today we can finally show you the biggest miniature we've ever made, our hero miniature for this June 2022 Release: Ezekiel, the Lord Necromancer in Flying Monster!

When we started to think about this miniature we had a couple ideas in mind about how we should create the flying monster and what we wanted to represent with it. As you have probably noticed, the design of our Transilvanya range of miniatures, our undead army, is influenced by the slavic culture -the Boyar Skeletons are the perfect example of that- so we went to the slavic mythology in order to find references and ideas for the flying monster, and we did it! We found this amazing illustration called "Fight Dobrynya Nikitich with seven-headed Serpent dragon" created by Vasnetsov Viktor Mikhaylovich (c. 1918) and we use it as the main reference to design the flying monster -but of course, with only one head-.

👉🏻 Ezekiel, the Lord Necromancer comes separated from the flying monster and it has a modular weapon that comes with three options: scythe, sword and mace. The flying monster comes separated in four pieces: right and left wings, the tail and the main body that comes attached to the chapel.

As we said in the previous post about the Wraith miniatures, we have also gather a lot of inspiration from Tolkien's work and the illustrations created by Alan Lee and John Howe.

The idea about the need to create this big hero miniature comes from an old miniature from the Vampire Count army that probably some of you still remember called "Zacharias, the Everliving".

We really like the outcome of this miniature, specially the flying monster, and we are anxious to see it printed and painted!
