What is Wrath Club

This is Lyle "McDouchebag" Rath and Wrath Club is the new production name of my channel!

Why rebrand?

A couple reasons.

1. Because I had a PG "swear" word in my handle, I was on a bunch of grey lists. I could bitch about double standards here (it's not like I'm vlogging corpses or anything) but at the end of the day, I GET it.

2. Most of my videos are made with a small team. It's a little weird when your "Name" is your brand because you're essentially forced to slap your name on EVERYBODY'S work.

3. Having your brand be "you" also makes everything you do weirdly "personal." My channel is about the content, not really ME but because my brand was my name I felt like I had to force "myself" into the content. And then if I was playing a "character" or a caricature of myself, that would also always be super unclear to people. Maybe I'm overthinking this one.

4. Room to grow. Do bigger things. Just in general.

What's changing?

I'd love to say it's "just a name change" because that's mostly what it is, but it's a little more complicated than that.

The biggest change is going to be how I decide what goes on the main/side channel. Before the question was "is this good enough to go on the main channel?" Now the question is "would somebody have to know who I am to enjoy this?"

So now any content that's made PURELY for entertainment will go on Wrath Club (formerly Lyle McDouchebag)

Any content that has to do with me, Lyle, the person will go on Lyle Rath (formerly LyleSucks)

Goals moving forward

I've always been trying to make better stuff and the internet is becoming a progressively worse and worse place to make that happen. But I'm not giving up.

It's hard because ambition is the shit that genuinely bankrupts you nowadays on the internet (specifically youtube) and the smartest thing to do is make lazy sludge.

I'm gonna try my hardest to make genuine content a thing again. I can't guarantee that I'll succeed, but I'm trying.

I think I need to find smarter ways to get my stuff seen and find other platforms that aren't youtube.

I have a lot of things in the works that may or may not happen, but what I will say is there's at least one really ambitious idea I've been working on for a while and my goal is to have it done by the end of the year.
