Outstanding summary. ;)

Kique Nordin

'Ello everyone! Another comic summary is here! x) I wrote this when Kique posted that the chapter would be ending (not counting page breaks in between) and it took a VERY long time to write out and summarize stuff as correctly as possible. I enjoy writing these summaries SO much, despite only writing one in the previous chapter that summarized "Forced Path." I think I'll be writing more if Kique approves. ^^ Also, summaries are very long, so sit back, relax, maybe grab a snack, and read! *Remember, these contain spoilers, so make sure you read everything beforehand :)* Now let's get into this... What to conclude from the chapter Insight: From the previous chapter, Roamer and Rogio started moving towards the MT after Roamer uncovered the secret about Ronja being at the MT. Rogio had collapsed, but he soon regained consciousness as soon as Roamer came back with some branches for a fire. He said he was fine, but Roamer wanted them to stay and rest, as well as have Rogio tell him the secret he has been keeping. After sharing the secret about his nightmares, Rogio follows Roamer into the forest and asks him to share his burden. He does; his burden being about Ronja, Kargo, and Ferah keeping the secret. Rogio gives him some very solid advice of not thinking about what he could have done in the past, but rather, what he can do for her today. After that, Rogio and Roamer are seen taking a walk. During this walk, Roamer asks some questions about Ronja's stay at the MT, considering Rogio was there for the beginning of it. He asks how she got in, how she was treated, if things had changed since the rebellion, if she was ever touched by Ranach, and what the guild thinks. Rogio said she was lured into the tribe from Ranach while he pretended to be in love with her. That was pushed around, but not injured. The females were still used purely for breeding but she was spared the same fate by Ranach because he had his father killed; thus making her his Viscountess and his only. He tried to get close, but she rejected him - instead, he used "someone else," who we know as Rogio. Rogio also said that he doesn't know how the guild said there were positive changes because Ranach either set another goal for himself to treat the tribe better for his own benefit or left - he doesn't know which thought scares him the most. The next day, Ronja is found talking to Fremja about wanting to see her family. Fremja tells her she cannot leave, considering Ulfr and Ranach might still be lurking outside tribe walls. It is then we see Jonna come into view, telling her that Vandi has given birth. She goes to see Vandi and the new female pup whose name is Akleja. She is the first-born dog (and female in general) to be in control of her own fate. We learn Fuss is the father by him walking and greeting his mate and his daughter. We also learn the past of their relationship: Vandi and Fuss happened to of grown close when he joined. Coming from an entirely different tree of lineage, it'll be interesting to see what patterns come up on the pup. Meanwhile, Keirr and Aira stumble upon the "reindeer dogs" - or rather, the Whispervale tribe. During the moment, we see the tribe romping around in Lonekeep Fjall with their racks, while they chase and spar one another. Keirr suggests they join their pack, but Aira says to just ask if they have seen his family. He ignores her and says that they should rest and eat first. Jarl Fraujar alerts the tribe of the duo's presence, demands the baron and baroness (Bokki and Faera; his offspring) at his side to assist him, as well as the tribe taking off their crowns and watching their backs. Fraujar explains that he doesn't care about the sympathy they were displaying and flips it on them; he explains what he DOES care about; it's the health and well-being of his tribe. He calls for Felidae, a beautiful and joyful bundle of a dog to help assist the duo. While escorting them through the village, he explains what they'll be doing during the trial period. Two days later and we're back to the Rogio and Roamer POV. They found resting at night, where Roamer is watching the sky for falling stars. Rogio is distant and he asks what's wrong. He was thinking about Rhovanian and explained how he wanted to pursue a friendship with him and if he knew how much he'd affect him, he would have stayed away. Roamer asks if he thinks the pack will return and asks Rogio to be honest with him and that he's sick and tired from being sheltered from the bitter truth; as lies will get you killed in this world. He does. Rogio says that the chances of them are quite low. He goes to apologize, but Roamer interrupts him and says thank you, then curls up and goes to sleep. Going back to the Ronja POV, they discuss some stuff about little Akelja before going out for a walk. The two go off and stretch their legs in (might I add) a GORGEOUS area. They discuss some stuff about Ronja's pregnancy. Ronja isn't sure how she feels about it and feels like it hasn't sunk in yet. She helped her pack through their pups, but Vandi assured her that she'd help her with each step (which is very kind of her.) She asks why she mated with Ranach and Ronja answered that she liked someone (Roamer) in her old back. He soon left with some friends and that she was very mad at him - she didn't understand by he had such an urge to Roam all the time (ironic, I know). He talked about it so often, she thought she needed to leave too, but there was no reason to. She thought she finally found that reason when she met Ranach that promised a wonderful life to have a family with. She was attracted to him, but there was no love because she was being jealous and stupid. She misses her family and Vandi says that she hopes that the tribe will feel like one too. Moments later, we see Ronja sneak off to a place that she probably decorated. We find a rock and a stick, as well as a torch. It is then we see her scratching the runes "Zil" onto the rock, which we think is a memorial for Zilas and the rock is his tombstone. The next day, we switch to the Rhov and Feaf POV. He's stalking around and overhears Axi and Bacho gossiping about him. They say that they don't trust him, that he's being very distant, and they can't wait to hand him over and be done with him at Nordulv's guild. Rhov watches Feaf start to stalk and hunt - he follows her. It is then we see the first Arwae Gazelle in this comic. Feaf expertly jumps on it's back, climbs up its neck, and kills it with a blow to the windpipe (as Kique once said, the scene was poetry in motion). Rhov, of course, brags and the two decide to compete against each other at hunting after harvesting the meat. Rhov kills a goat/deer creature and the two talk about where they live, what species they are, using weapons for hunting, and then it ends off with them discussing Zilas (who went unnamed), tossing some friendly banter here and there. Later, we see it switches back to the Aira/Keirr POV. He watches Fraujar "spar" with a young pup. Aira asks when they could leave, but Keirr says they need stability right now and decide to stay. The Rite of Passage begins and it's explained: Keirr and Aira will become Sarv's (a bull reindeer) that try and steal the Vajor (cows) from another Sarv. She says they WILL get hurt but will be treated afterward. Raun becomes the rival Sarv and Felidae says that he doesn't have to defeat him; they just need to make an impression on Fraujar. He explains the rules to them - Aira goes first. Raun charges her and defeats her. Fraujar claims her character can improve but structure, however, cannot. Keirr says she's only lacking muscle, something that can be corrected through training. Aria then starts departing from them with teary eyes - it is then Keirr's turn. We get a Kainan flashback, where Keirr learns how to get the upper-hand (or rather paw) in this situation. He begins rounding up 3 females (counting Felidae, who gives both males a rough time lol). However, Raun notices and rounds them back up to the herd. Keirr headbutts Raun straight on, clashing him with a large amount of force. However, Raun knocks him off balance after a push-and-shove contest, flips him over, and defeats him. The Rite of Passage ends, where we see Raun, Keirr, and Felidae banter about it. We then see the 2017 comic summary! It was amazing! Go check it out if you haven't already seen it. It's available on Patreon and Smackjeeves. It then switches back to the Roamer/Rogio POV. During a walk at dusk, Roamer thanks him for accompanying him on the journey (he makes Rogio smile, which is something we all get to be happy about.) As the two run up on The Lonely Village, Rogio suggests they go around. Although Roamer knew about Zilas' death, he was informed that his death was a hunting accident, where, here, Rogio revealed that the MT murdered him. He told him he would have done anything in his power to stop them, but he didn't find out until it was too late - he was sorry that he didn't know. They find the MT paint is marked at the entrance. It is here where we finally found out who the love interest is about!!! At night, Roamer is silent. Rogio opens up about his past, where he wasn't born in the MT, nor did he join them by choice. He came from a village far up the mountains. Someone angered the spirit, causing it to wipe out everything and everyone pretty much. One of their members (Ranach) found him, nursed him back to health, and showed a side only Rogio saw. He fell in love (both of them did, however, Ranach denied it to everyone and even Rogio at some points). Rogio explained how he was angry at himself for staying and being blinded by Ranach's bullshit, while traces of his family disappeared. This got Roamer talking. He explained that he told the others that the Lonely Village was safe, but he should have known better, and it got Zilas killed. Every choice he made, it made him lose sight of all of them. After this dialogue, Rogio moves in to comfort Roamer. We see him first nuzzle him, then kiss him, and begin to collapse onto the ground together. Rogio was topping first, but Roamer quickly took his place and decided to top - he took control of the intimacy. Rogio didn't mind at all, as we see him smile, and the exiting shot of them mounted under the stars. A BONUS PAGE IS DRAWN. If you want to see what happened that night, pledge 15$ to Kique on Patreon and look under the Bonus Page tab, download the picture, and in for yourself (I recommend this ^^ Remember that it's an NSFW page). The night after, we see Rogio asleep with NO EYEBAGS (YAY!) and Roamers paw tangled in his fur which is probably from him rubbing Rogio to sleep (Aww). He seems to have a lot on his mind, especially considering he lost his virginity to Rogio, broke up with Kargo, etc. Rogio notices him acting distant and asks if he's okay, but it's obvious with Roamer's answer that he really isn't. He has a right to act this way. Then it cuts back to Whispervale POV. We see (now) Guard Keirr with a confident pose, waiting for Aira to finish up. We then see Raun bantering to Keirr before Aira steps out of the hut SCAR FREE (YAY! 2x) with the new rank Healer. She said she's nervous, but Keirr comforts her, making her smile (yay again). We then see it cut to the Rhov and Feaf POV. The guild is now in the Emerald Realm. Rhov learns that the guild is not in charge of him joining and the next time he can travel will be 3 months (50 days as of that current day). He decides to keep up the lie that he's just "wanting to get started" when really he's looking for his family and thought the guild would be of help to him. We then see him look regretful in the last panel - it seems like Feaf caught it too. Now, we switch back to the Roamgio (lol) POV. They have arrived at the Meteor Tribe! Rogio seems a little surprised that a female was in charge watching the gate (considering he was exiled and presumed dead before the females had a change of fate). He tells Roamer to watch their backs while he talks to her (the female is Fremja). She's obviously in shock seeing him again, considering the remaining MT members last saw Rogio being led to what they thought was his death. Luckily, he was saved in the chapter "Void - Page 182" [http://home-comic.smackjeeves.com/comics/2362672/page-183/ ]. During this entire encounter, the two remain vigilant and cautious - it's something that every dog must do when being around the MT. Roamer and Rogio have no clue who and what lies beyond the gates and if it's welcoming or not (in their case, it's welcoming, considering Ronja will see Roamer and probably break down into tears of both joy and probably a little anger, haha.) Rogio asks where Ranach is and Fremja tells him that he was banished by Viscountess (and now our huntress <3) Ronja. He quickly asks her to open the gate considering her friend Roamer is here for her. She complies without a second thought, opening the gate, telling them to shut it behind them, and quickly runs off to gather the others. She quickly gathers them. Roamer is hoping she's happy to see him and Rogio assured him she definitely will be. Fuss asks about Rogio and tells him he would have helped, but he was morally drained by Arenak. Rogio forgives everyone, past is the past, and is happy they're free from their burden. Ronja is then seen running towards Roamer. The two run towards each other, tackle each other and are overwhelmed with happiness. During this encounter, Rogio learns that Ulfr and Ranach are still out there and no one is allowed to leave until they know it's safe (he gave a look, which probably suggests he's "mad" at the fact that their burden is still not released from them.) Roamer learns that Ronja is pregnant just by judging her size. He gives Rogio a look, says that he'll never leave her again, and this earns us a look from Rogio that suggests he might be a little put off on this idea. In the chapter finale, we see Ulfr and Ranach in some sort of cave sharpening spears and preparing for an ambush, just feet away from MT walls. It seems like they're getting ready for a raid/ambush, and both of them have their eyes set directly on Viscountess Ronja. She meant her words when she said she'd kill Ranach, and it seems like she'll either do just that or injure him so much that he begs for mercy. We'll have to see what the next chapter will offer... And that's it! I think I got everything, so hopefully I did! :P And on that note, thank you, Kique, for making this chapter so interesting and fun to see. Between the upgraded backgrounds, the positions, perspective angles, and more. This chapter was definitely one filled with story, fear, love, and tragedy. The next, I can imagine, will be filled with sorrow, pain, fear, (obviously story), and brutality. Lots, and lots, of brutality. Although I've said this before, I'll say it again. Your comics are amazing and I want to thank you - all of us, want to thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, of letting us get to see you evolve and see your work. We thank you for letting us support your work, whether it be by constructive critiques, questions, and suggestions. We thank you for everything you have done thus far. So, thank you Kique, for this hell of a ride on not only this chapter, but the comic series as a whole. See you all in the next chapter! <3

I cannot stop looking at Ranch's expression. He truly is a sly devil. Now that Roamer is with Ronja, I am not hoping, but saying that Ronja better learn to become independent and a more responsible leader. Moreover, She better find a way to set out a plan to stop Ranch and/or Ulfr. However, it will be hard for her and the others to identify Ranch clever disguise. I am not sure how this story will go and what will happen, but I now that everyone will pull together to stop both antagonist from their evil doing. By the way, Kique, this is an awesome comic. *Better grammar* Kindest Regards, Agent DD2950.

Agent DD2950

Oh boy. The two evils will return.

Agent DD2950

I removed the watermark to fit the "to be continued" part

Kique Nordin

Might sound weird, but Ranach looks really awesome in the last panel. Like, He, not only turned evil, but now his mind is clouded up more than ever, as the dirt hints. Also, is it me, or is the "Johan-N" watermark missing?

RBYTryumvirat

I was just thinking the same thing...

ACWN Designs

I really hope nothing happens to little Akleja :( She is the most vulnerable of the tribe after all..

LC

It was mentioned there be deaths this chapter, really hoping it's these two and not any of the tribe, I've grown attached to them all.

Peentz

This page is a nice reminder that the threat of Ranach and Ulfr is very much real. It may be for the immediate future or the near future, but a planned attack is certain. I wonder if their plan is simply to kill Ronja, or cause as much damage to the tribe as possible? Who am I kidding? They plan to do both, seeing how they have nothing left to loose. Though I'm sure Ranach will be more shocked to learn Rogio is alive, than Rogio is to see him. As I said last page, Rogio looked angry, so he is probably steeling himself for the eventual confrontation with Ran. As for Ranach, he's already lost part of his mind, finding his former lover alive with a new (caring) love interest will most likely push him further into the deep end.

Silver Huskey

Wow... Ranach went psycho...

Well to be honest that could go two ways, they could try to vault it like you said.. or Ranach might pretend he's being chased down by Ulfr and they let him in out of pity. Ronja has an open heart to these things and his scent is masked with the water and mud, if he's able to fake a voice well then getting back into the tribe grounds and killing some people or waiting until everyone falls asleep to open the gates for ulfr.. wouldn't be all that hard. As corrupt as Ranach is he's damn smart and sly, I'm very interested although worried x'3

FeatheryFables

Whoooa boi, no, we still know it's you ya nasty beast. "If you ever come back here I'll kill you myself!" Well Ronja.. here's your chance x'D I honestly wonder what he'll do if he sees Rogio again though, would he drop everything or has he snapped completely at this point.. Seeing Ranach again might just push Rogio over the edge though and cause him to break down and turn if he's still fighting not to.. I feel so bad for the guy, he never seems to catch a break but that is life I suppose ;w;

FeatheryFables

Yes it´s the last (:

Kique Nordin

Man wouldn't it be kinda sad if it was Vigr? I'm honestly not worried about Fuss because I feel like he has so much left in his story, for him to die now it just wouldn't make sense, he might get injured though. But Vigr...he was the other dog beside Ronja who told Ranach off. Also Jonna, she was the reason Ulfr got kicked out. Along that line of thinking, Ulfr could also target Vandi and they're BOTH out for Ronja, but I feel like Fuss and Roamer in particular will protect those two. On another note, Ranach is obviously gonna be thrown for a loop when he sees Rogio, and I can't wait. :) Thinking in the other direction...I could definitely see Ranach or Ulfr (or both) getting killed here. It would be incredibly fitting if someone close to Ranach were to do the deed. If neither are willing to seek redemption, then both shall surely die.

Cobaltopia

Wat is he doin turning his coat pitch black?

His white half is completely covered. Hoo boy he has fully embraced the dark side

Midnyte121

So Ulfr did team up with Ranach in the end.. this doesn't look good at at all lol. I know the scene with Ronja throwing the knife at Ranach was badass but she did give him a weapon that he can use against the tribe now. I'm so excited for the next chapter <3

overcastsea

Randy xD

JackalHackal

-applauds- Great recap. Thanks.

JackalHackal

I have my summary written! Is this actually the last page I can post it in? I'll be posting it in a second!

Vizeryn

OH SHOOT

Waikku

I CANNOT WAIT AHH omg i wanna see ranch FLIP when he sees rogio like !?!?!

ArtemistheArtist22

I'm so unsettled by this

JackalHackal

Like I said on the last page, dem awesome cliffhangers, Kique! Ooooh the suspense! :D

Yami

Maybe they know a secret tunnel into the territory o.O aww man I don´t want nobody to get hurt (again)

Aerophoinix

I believe he is rolling in the mud to cover his white markings. Camoflauge.

SUN

Way to be super creepy Ranach!

Morgran

Oh shit... looks like they’re planning an ambush/raid, if Ulfr crafting spears and Ranach using water/mud to mask his scent (if that is, indeed, what he’s doing; could also be a form of camouflage) is any indication. Not to mention the knives... I’ve gotta wonder how, exactly, they’re gonna pull this off though. I mean, they can’t get in unless someone opens the gate for them, and that’s obviously not going to happen. I know if they were humans, they could possibly use those spears to vault themselves over the wall and into the territory, but I just can’t see how this would even work for a couple of dogs, even abnormal, highly-evolved ones like these. Well, one thing’s for sure, whatever they’re planning, I have a really bad feeling about it. Ranach’s face in that last panel makes me feel like he’s completely lost it (and let’s face it, he wasn’t exactly sane, to begin with). The next chapter is going to be intense, I can already tell.

CorruptAngel

Oh feck.

Retroleem

Using water/mud is a common way to hide a scent, for people who might wonder :3

Viktor

Ooohhhh!!! They've definatly teamed up! And woof course, they're up to no good... They have at least 3 knives to use. Wonder what exactly they are planning. And no worries Kique. ^^

Tora Collita

Noooo!!÷

Rcklss misfit

True, true, I have a feeling it’s going to bite her in the butt. 😰

Michelle Koenders

Oohhh Ronja should not have given Ranach that extra knife >.> *in Zazu's voice* it's waarrr!! lol I had to

Cobaltopia

oh shiiitttt

Looks like they're preparing for an attack? It's a bit hard to determine if they're doing that or trying to find another way?? The water is really throwing me off XD

Skittles

Oooohh, this creeped me out! Nice job!
