I didnt notice until this moment that the akiulfr(?) was dressed up to look like Ranulfr....

Fern Hill

It might be true that Roghir never got a chance to understood that other dogs are equal too. The lie most likely also should keep them together, as "one" as he said, so they wouldn't breed with other races. While that makes sense from the point of view of a dog owner (or the sky gods...), it boils down to the fact that Roghir might love the Akis, but doesn't acts like they are living beings with their own mind, their own desires. That is incredible wrong, cause especially the older Akiulfrs are just some months younger than he is, as it appears and they don't deserve to be trapped on that island forever. Also it is a dishonor to the very dogs who fought for the skydogs. The only "wolf of battle" there is Jahla, Roghir did nothing but follows Father, which is fine and okay, it was his choice after all, but he didn't helped or fight. It wasn't his victory, it was theirs. The Asmundr pack just had one Akiulfr with them and she's standing right in front of him. While I do agree that I hope we'll see some growing from Jahla, a deeper understanding of what her mate said to her, that lying to your closed ones is wrong, I kinda feel it's different. While still wrong (Jahla should have told Kainan and led him decide, as their trusted leader), Zilas was already dead, so to speak and knowing he was murdered brutally would have most likely killed Zahira in a way and Raimo also would have rushed towards MT to die there, I doubt someone could have stopped him. Roghir however...I dunno. Anyway, I do hope he gets called out and Jahla might come to an understanding what her mate said to her, so when they reunite, she can apologize to him cause yeah, that she owns him, definitely.

One thing to think about, in my opinion, is how isolated Roghir himself is. Jahla is the only one who ever spent any time with other dogs. They were taken away to the mountain when they were very young and knew so little about anything else. They only knew their biological father, the sky gods, and VERY FEW memories of being pups and briefly interacting with the other dogs. Jahla was only exposed to Rhov and the others because she searched for help for her mother while her brother guarded. He knows so little of anything else. I don't think he's incapable of seeing that there is more out there, and maybe that is where he needs to grow, but so far, what chance has he had to do that. We also don't know what the sky gods themselves have filled his head with, for better, worse or indifferent I withhold my judgement on Roghir for now.

As I thought - he really lied. It's disgusting, to be honest. He was so logical and smart and what is he doing now? It seems like he wants them all to believe that they're superior. He said nothing about dogs who really in fact have fought liufrs. It's not the way how he should act. Is it power that stroke his head so much? I hope Jahla will call him in front of the others. By the way, I hope she now understands how she looked like when tried to keep truth from her pack.

Yes, yes go on Jalah! I've been waiting for this...! Only ONE Akiulfr took part in the battle against the Liulfrs: JALAH! You didn't show up until the END of the battle, Rohgir. Rohgir only cared about preserving himself and his kind. Father himself said that he chose KAINAN to be the guardian.

That's one thing I hope comes out of this, is that Jahla takes on a deeper understanding of the other side and perspective and forms a closer bond with Rhov when she comes back to him. This is her chance to do some growing. I also want to know Roghir's reasoning for telling the story this way . Is it just an age appropriate way to tell the pups a basic story? Do the adults know more about those outside and other than their kind? It would no wonder contribute to the moral of the island if the dogs think that there is no one else, no other dogs or anyone, just them and this life. There's so much about the group we don't know

JackalHackal

Yep, exactly what I thought. A BIG fabrication of the truth, on multiple points (I won’t go into that, as my comments on the previous page pretty much covered it), and Jahla is PISSED. Of course, I don’t blame her, and I really want to see her call out Rohgir’s bullshit, in front of everyone. But, will the rest of the Akiulfr even believe her? Will Rohgir declare his own sister wrong, and a liar, even if he, himself, *does* actually know the truth? Not to mention that, like a few others have already mentioned, if Jahla calls her brother out for his lies, it’ll make her a hypocrite, after how she, herself, lied about the cause of Zilas’ death in order to “protect” her family from the truth; Rohgir is now doing the same thing in order to (presumedly) “protect” the Akiulfr from the truth of their origin. But, maybe this will finally open Jahla’s eyes... make her realize how wrong that was to lie to the Asmundr pack about something so important, even if she did it for the right reasons. Hopefully she now thinks back on Rhov’s words, and finally understands where he was coming from, when she was so against her mate’s way of thinking, before.

Nice lie Roghir. Everyone lie in this comic seriously ! Rohgir, you weren't even here on the liulfr battle !

Akela74

Really, Rohgir?! Not much more to be said then other already said. Now let's see what and how Jahla will talk to her brother about this lie!

Tora Collita

That... is extremely dishonest! Jahla was the only Akiulfr who fought alongside the dogs of Earth to help defeat the Lilufr! How dare Rohgir not mention them, how dare he spit on them for almost losing their lives to save their home and their land! While he sat safe and sound with Father and Aegirr. Aegirr had an excuse to not fight and be safe with Father, he is no killer. Just... really!

Spiritstrike

It is stripes :3 ( it's my design from the contest ). I purposefully picked the most iconic Liulfr genetic traits for this guy on purpose <3 What kique did with it is... beyond amazing *w*

Viktor

If I was Jahla I would be so offended as the ONLY Akiulfr to fight against the Lilufr. That battle was hers to face alone as a decedent from the Lilufr itself and her Asmundr family. I can see her quoting Rhov about not blindly following others, and understanding the weight of the statement now.

Retroleem

Those white stripes... are they painted on? Because the "Liulfr" reminds me a lot of Ranulfr. Oh Rohgir, what are you doing?

Yami

Jahla is ppiisseedddd

Prålig

I understand that he wanted to give his kind a back story other than we were made. But he should have at least talked to jahla about how it happened and he could have said that together with the normal dogs they rose up and defeated the liulfr. It would connect them not only to the story as a breed but to their other halves the dogs.

Zsero

I think what hurts the most about this lie of a story, is how much care and love Roghir is showing towards those pups (and his mate) in both pages. He really does think he's doing what's best for his pack by telling the story like this. And I get it, but to tell that lie and erase the work of the dogs who actually risked their lives to try and save earth, that's so terribly wrong. Especially with Jahla sitting right there, being the only one down on earth fighting and watching 95% of her family almost die.

Farvardin

I always like Rhogir in Asmundr for being the logical sibling but now it's like, buddy what are you DOING. I hope Jahla calls him on his actions even if it would make her a hypocrite.

Peentz

Uh oh, Jahla bout to bust up this party. I wonder if she'll make a scene or talk to him in private. Would the others believe her side of the story?
