I have doubts about them being closer to themselves or happy, based mostly on Fjordor's descriptions of the evolution of the night beasts. The terror they feel, even initially, the peeling off the skin, the whole development is extremely traumatizing. To me that implies there is something inherent in being a night beast that inclines one to general beasty- ness

I agree on the fact that these seems to be "young" night beats. To me, it's actually very probable that they never really stop "feeling" and having emotions. Like Aira, they just progressively lose connection with their feelings and "humanity" because no one like them, no one love them, everyone just hate them, fear them, attack them. There's no point into not being a monster when everyone treat you like a monster. It's something very important about the whole explanation Aira made, and I do believe it also applies to night beasts as well. They just progressively embrace being a monstrosity. I'd be curious to see how a night beast would turn out if it wasn't feared and treated like a monster, would the creature keep feeling, being happy, and act like more/less it's normal self? Prehaps it's something we may see with Rogio, who knows.

I wondered about the nose, too. My guess is that the night beasts will tie to the spirits in some way.

If Savas is so recognisable I dread to see Silas - if he turned into a night beast he'd have recognisable neck wounds as well right? 😔 And Savas' nose looks kinda like monster Aira's, I wonder if that's a coincidence or a change the spirits of this world generally do?

Like an earlier commenter said, I have no doubts in my mind now that this is Savas, the wounds match exactly to the ones given to him by Kargo. It's cool as hell that this was called back to but it makes me wonder, do ghouls not heal? Savas was killed a long while back and his wounds would have healed had he been alive, Perhaps they simply live with any death sustaining injuries they get and they forever bleed rather than heal with time?

It's amazing how casual night beasts are to Akiulfrs. Also, Kique, shouldn't it be 'night beasts' in panel six? The singular sounds a little odd here.

I'm so glad to see we're back to these two again! I'm more invested in Jahla and the Aki's side of the story than anyone elses (Even though I love them too - don't get me wrong). But the side of the story that involves these two and the rest of the Aki's interests me just a tad more - likely due to how many more questions than answers we have XP Also that nightbeast is incredibly awesome looking - I'm not going to lie, its as scary as it is cute? (Weird but we're gonna go with it) XD And is it just me, or does that one have a striking resemblance to the "Green Ones" From Asmundr. O_o
