And how they’ve interacted with regular humans. I guess they just decided that with humans arrival, sentient dogs won’t have a future on Earth

In asmundr, the first comic, it was revealed that their canine ancestors were altered by the sky gods, giving them human intelligence, speech, weapons etc. domestic dogs didn’t exist in that timeline yet as it was based on the time before the modern man populated that area of the world.

Yes, the events and evolution in Home is based on the 30th Century BC, it's 3000 BC where the first early agriculture appeared in Africa, and sumerian writing took form, the writing present in the comic.
