And they still went to bother Shiverfall anyways. If they accepted Ninmah’s reign, they would have convinced the other tribes to leave them alone

2023-09-25 15:28:02 +0000 UTCHmm… I have to say, when I first learned of Avanti’s full name meaning “lacking beauty”, I wasn’t surprised, because I just thought that the dogs gave her that name, and yeah, I mean… of course she wouldn’t seem beautiful *to them*, with her human-like physical attributes. To use a hypothetical real life example, it would be like there being a half-human, half-canine creature trying to live amongst us, and I dare-say that most people wouldn’t find that attractive, and would likely be disgusted and/or fearful of it. After all, people (and obviously the majority of the dogs of this world) often fear and hate what they don’t understand, or what is different from the norm. It’s sad, but it’s understandable. But now knowing that it was apparently the gods themselves that actually gave her that name, after they created her and considered her a “failed experiment”… *that* is really sad. She’s actually very beautiful, and also seems like a sweet, gentle soul, with how regretful she was after her curse was broken, and now here, with the way she’s seen softly smiling and gently petting one of Ninmah’s hares. She certainly didn’t deserve to be unfairly judged by her appearance, and cursed to become a truly hideous beast with no real control of herself, simply because she’s different. I feel so bad for her, and I hope that now that she’s apparently going to be joining Jahla’s tribe, she’ll finally get the love and acceptance that she deserves (even though, like some others have mentioned, I’m afraid that it will only serve for the other dogs to hate and fear Jahla and her tribe, even more, now that they will have an “ugly beast” living there). It makes me wonder too, if Avanti is somehow related to those other dogs that attacked Marduk… the Rabisu, if I recall correctly? I mean, they clearly weren’t normal dogs. Not only did they also speak the language of the Sky Gods, but it looked like they had vaguely human-like characteristics, as well, with the way their paws seemed more like human hands, when that one grabbed Marduk’s face. They also appeared to have saber fangs, although shorter than those of the Liulfr/Akiulfr, they still looked similar. And with their glowing blue energy on their bodies that appeared to be the same as the other Sky God creations have, such as the Liulfr and the Akiulfr… honestly, they kinda reminded me of a mix of an Akiulfr and whatever Avanti’s species would be called. But if she is considered a “failed experiment”, then surely there weren’t anymore that were made like her? At any rate, I’m really looking forward to when we’ll learn more about the Rabisu, and why they attacked Marduk, especially when they called him a murderer while calling him out for hiding (I have my theories, of course, but will keep them to myself, for now). Those also really looked like Zioqa that were with them, and that really intrigues me, considering it was always believed that Zahira (and formerly, Zilas) were the last of their kind. Back to the page itself, though (well, and really the last page too, as I didn’t actually comment on that one when it was first released), I really feel bad for Ninmah. I had a feeling that there has been some kind of corruption in the Capital, and that the members have been acting against Ninmah’s wishes, and I think it’s obvious now that if they ever find out who/what she actually is, they’re likely to depose her altogether as their leader, if not outright kill her, and I find that really upsetting. She’s so beautiful, and seems to be such a pure soul, the only uncorrupted Liulfr, as well as the last one remaining of that species, as a whole, and if we were to lose her as a character in this story, before even really getting to know her… it would be devastating. Especially if it was by the very dogs that claimed to have respected and honored her as the Matriarch, for so long. I almost wish she could go live with Jahla, as not only would she have the opportunity to really get to know and bond with her granddaughter (and for that matter, her grandson, as well, since Argeirr is there too), she could continue to live via the energy of the Akiulfr. I know that would obviously bring about a whole slew of other problems, though. I know I say this a lot, but it really is such a shame. Nearly every major problem in this comic all boils down to the dogs’ prejudice of those that are different from them. It’s realistic to what happens in our own world, even if it’s infuriating. Shiverfall is a breath of fresh air, with their willingness to accept different species, but it’s not surprising either, with how they, themselves, were treated, in the past (and still are, to a point). And I feel like Havenreach could truly become a haven for all those species who are judged unfairly or are just misfits, in general, which would be so nice to see… but then it would most definitely only put a bigger target on Jahla’s back, so it’s a double-edged sword. A sort of “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” situation, if you will. =/

2023-09-24 23:05:56 +0000 UTCAw i Love that Jahla wants to take care of her, BUT i fear that the Locals will see this even more as a reason to not trust her and her Tribe, first two "Wolf" and now an "abomination" (in probably their eyes, not mine) I dont think that everyone knows what Avanti looks like. Also, just a thought that came to my mind, even if people know who Avanti is... would they not fear what the "Red Wolf" would do, with a "God" living by her Side...? i really wish Avanti gets the Chance to live a carefree life, but with the Way the Sociaty stands in this World, i fear for her and Jahlas whole Tribe.

2023-09-24 05:06:46 +0000 UTCAnd a third note, given Avanti is proof of god-canine genetic mingle, It pretty much push me in believing that this is why Thakir has an extra "more god" feature to him ( the crest ). Perhaps his DNA was messed with. Or he is the offspring of Canine god × Akiulfr instead of Liulfr × Canine ( i think the 2nd gen has the same parentage as the first gen, Liu×dog, considering none of the 1st gen are their parents xD, cant be aki×aki ). To get the crest, which is so far purely god feature, really would push in something different within his close lineage. And that's not taking the triangle on his chest in consideration. Which, there, make me think he might be directly related to Utu in some way ( father-son, cousin, grand-son, etc. ). The triangle has been mainly related to Utu so far, and not the other gods - as far as awareness -. The greens were circle (ship), and were known to attempt stealing the blues creations/projects and try to emulate/mimick ( which is why i think the obelisk is Greens, camo as blue/triangle architecture ). I haven't observed Thakir enough to determine what dog mix he is, I know Utu's canine is pure Rifle, like Kainan, but I'm not dog-savy enough to decipher the anatomy in a crossbreed 🙃 But yeah... Sus with Thakir. The fact he's a priest, too, of all the ranks, seems extremely god-linked too.

You deserves happiness too Nin. Hopefully at some point. After being ripped away from her mate, her son, her god friend (Utu) and now her own Tribe, and Avanti.. if only Lifa still had the mark, she could go retire with the Asmundr group ( since that whole group do not hold Ranulfr in disdain since his death, as they discovered the why he went crazy ). It'd be an interesting thing to see, how the old pack reacts to a family member of their previous arc nemesis.
