I appreciate your opinions and views on films, as the more popular you aren't afraid to criticise or give your take on, even if you find them forgettable or have feelings on them that differ from the general consensus/majority view. But what makes your takes more respectable is that you go out of your way to explain "why" you feel this way, or "why" you consider the movie in that certain way (unless it's Star Wars, which I get). Where as most haters just hate for views/wanting controversy, you describe your hate/lack of shared enthusiasm using apt explanations, film knowledge, worldly exposure, and artist trivia (which often is super impressive). You clearly have a passion, and that you choose to express it the way you do is commendable, well structured, in-depth, detailed, expansive, and often hilarious (and to do this all when you're not feeling great is remarkable). So thank you Adam, this is why I'm a Patron of many years :) xx

(I'm solidly in the "easy to please if it pings my interest" category and pinning down a single movie to watch is a Task. Have not seen.. so many films on this list apparently) Getting to hear your opinions on movies I either love or hate is so fun though and I appreciate your stance on personal perspectives and criticisms. I always look forward to finding out about foreign films from you (especially mexican/spanish ones)!

2024-12-30 22:08:50 +0000 UTCAlso, you should give The Exorcist another chance. The devil stuff still doesn't scare me, but the helplessness that Kris feels throughout the film, plus all of the hospital stuff was a lot more intense and disturbing than I remember.

It's just a favorite of mine - I love Fincher's direction, the dialogue is almost taken right out of the book (which is one of my favorites as well), the soundtrack is great, and it is gay as hell. It's a 10/10 for me, always.
