September 2020 Newsletter

Hello friends!

Sorry for the long delay. It's been a truly hectic month, and while we've kept up with a very solid publication schedule on videos and podcasts, this update is coming later than we would like!

That's how it goes!

Here's what we've been up to:

Too Much Future is clipping right along, and we're a couple episodes into Fallout 3 now. It's a very interesting experience to contrast with the first two games, and we think the episodes are excellent so far. Here's the whole playlist!  

Game Studies Study Buddies released a new episode about Gordon Calleja's In Game, which gives us a new angle on the idea of "immersion" and tries to do something different with it. We think it's a useful corrective or perspective, even if we didn't necessarily come down to loving it without reservation at the end. You can listen to it here! 

Just King Things continues with a special DOUBLE POST this month. We read both 'Salem's Lot, the important book about [redacted], and by the time you are seeing this we have also posted The Shining. We did a double post this month because we wanted to get some of our stuff out of the top of the month; currently we drop a LOT of stuff around that time, and we wanted to spread the Ranged Touch schedule out a bit. Look for Just King Things about two weeks into each month now. Next up: Rage. 

The next JKT Bonusode will come out with the next Patreon newsletter, and it's on The Shining tv series. That's six hours of stuff to talk about. We'll try to keep it brief...er.

Michael is doing a let's play of Elsinore that is going up every other Thursday (when Too Much Future is not on), and it's an excellent time. CMRN doesn't understand Hamlet, and he never will. Watch the first two episodes: Part 1, Part 2.

The Vice City LP has had to take a short pause, but that's just because CMRN is too busy! It will be back soon. 

We recorded a new Mages & Murderdads several weeks ago, and one day it will be posted.

Danni has been streaming Crusader Kings 3, and VODS of that will go up soon!
