The Summer of Classics concluded, and now it's Fall, yall. That means scary stuff and 'scrows and all sorts of other horrifying things like winter damage to the pipes under your house and...tree wind. You get it. 

The most recent Game Studies Study Buddies is on the much-loved The Grasshopper, Bernard Suits' treatise on what a games are and how they function. Neither of the study buddies were too hot on it, but they found it helpful for articulating their own arguments about how games change materially in the world, so I guess that everyone learned a little something during that episode. You can listen to that episode. The next episode, out in a couple days, is on Jamie Woodcock's Marx at the Arcade.

Last month's Just King Things was on The Dark Half, and both Michael and CMRN suggested reading it if you wanted an easy, clear introduction to Stephen King's work in a general sense, especially after the hyper productive period of the mid-1980s. It's a real murder romp that fuses a few genres. The bonus episode on the George Romero film is pretty good too! Check it out. 

Homestuck Made This World continues to trundle through the neverending (ha ha) Act 6. Last month's bonus episode was a wild exploration through fan animations, and the upcoming bonus episode is on The Knight of the Burning Pestle, which is a boner joke but also SO MUCH MORE. A special October Horror Helping Harumph! (OHHH!) where Danni, Michael, and CMRN watched The Lair of the White Worm and talked about it.
