Moulinette Plugin for Obsidian

Exciting news to share with you today ... Moulinette is now available as a plugin for Obsidian, an incredibly versatile app as a TTRPG Campaign Manager. 

If you don't know Obsidian or how it can be used to manage your campaigns and game sessions, I recommend this great YouTube video from Nicole van der Hoeven : My Setup in Obsidian for TTRPGs in 2023.

The majority of you probably use Moulinette in FoundryVTT. However, Obsidian remains extremely interesting for managing notes and preparing game sessions, much more easily than managing journal articles in FVTT.

Feature Overview

When you want to enrich a note with an image or a music, open Moulinette (default shortcut is CTRL+SHIFT+M), navigate and search through your content, then select the desired asset. Moulinette takes care of downloading it and inserting the tag into your note.

Markdown Notes

The plugin also supports a new type of content: Markdown notes. These are simple texts that can be game rules, descriptions of buildings or locations, adventures, etc. Even though there aren't creators offering this type of content on Moulinette yet, we have provided notes for Open5e rules (D&D) and a few examples to experiment with this new capability, only available with this Moulinette plugin.

Free for communities

Moulinette warmly welcomes TTRPG communities and offers free use of the service to facilitate access and distribution of rules to game masters and players using Obsidian (of course, the community must respect copyrights). 

Note that communities do not need to fear dependence on the Moulinette service. All content is managed and maintained from a repository (on GitHub) owned by the community. Moulinette simply integrates to facilitate content search and distribution.

New opportunity for creators !

Markdown texts support opens the door to new creators : writers, story tellers, adventure designers, etc. If you have imagination, the ability to structure content, write, and prepare adventures or stories, Moulinette gives you the opportunity to monetize your talent! You can even include references to images, maps, and music from other creators in your content. These assets will be automatically downloaded (provided the user also supports its creator). Collaborate with other creators for incredible results!!

Just the beginning

This is a relatively basic first version that replicates some features of Moulinette for FoundryVTT. I'm sure you'll have many improvements to suggest and new use cases to request. I look forward to your feedback!!
