New module : navigation tools

I am very proud to announce the availability of a new module that aligns with Moulinette's goal of making life easier for game masters by reducing the time needed to perform often repetitive tasks.

This module provides an alternative view for navigating among scenes. The module is particularly useful if your campaign or adventure consists of many scenes organized in folders. By default, you need to click to open each folder and subfolder, and then two clicks are required to view or activate a scene. With this module, you get a structured overview of all scenes and you can switch from one scene to another with a single click.

Tested with my own campaign :-)

The illustrated examples below are based on nearly a hundred maps depicting an amazing fortress, The Dwarven City of Brazenthrone, by creator Milby's Maps.

Using the basic features of FoundryVTT, it is extremely tedious to navigate from one map to another, opening folders and subfolders, then requiring 2 clicks to display or activate a scene. The upper navigation becomes unusable, and I haven't found any module that meets my needs.

Multiple configurations to optimize navigation

The module implements and offers a few configurations to optimize the space required by the navigation :

Adapt the navigation to your session

The module requires you to select the folder to render. This means you can also choose a subfolder and thus quickly have a simplified navigation to use during your sessions.

In the example below, I could zoom in on the Halls where my players are currently exploring.

Other features

Here are a few more optimizations, and I'm looking forward to receiving improvement ideas from people who will test and use this new module :

I hope this module will be useful to other game masters / dungeon masters.

Comments

If I understand correctly, the UI of Moulinette Navigation doesn't size correctly in your case. Could you share a screenshot? I'll check with HideUI and Plutonium to see if I can reproduce it.

Moulinette

This is amazingly helpful ! The UI in my Foundry module for the navigation doesn't size correctly; I can't get it to be anything but a very long rectangle (like, a 1:20 aspect ratio). Everything else works fine. The only UI mods I have that I think could effect this are HideUI and Plutonium. Any insight ? (Foundry, 5e, all mods are up to date.)

I'm excited to jump into it!
