Martians Go Home & Frankenhooker (Air Date 3/21/92)

( Intro/ 5:18:22 Bridge/ 10:01:16 Outro)

Happy Humpday, Ho-mies!

Thank you so much for being so understanding about our ill-fated 4/20 stream last night. I didn’t announce it ahead of time bc I wasn’t exactly sure what time we’d be able to do it, and I knew whenever we did it would take us a few minutes to figure it out first. Alas, the edibles kicked in and our already not super tech savvy selves got even more stoopid. 😋 I thought I was going to delete that post first thing this AM but y’all were so kind about it that it’s totally staying up! And I promise we will make it up with a real live stream ASAP. 🖤

For your viewing pleasure tonight I bring you JB talking about one of my favorite fright flicks: Frankenhooker!! You have no idea how much I want to get that on LDI...Hopefully one of these days it’ll happen! 🤞 I’ve never seen Martians but his intro convinced me I need to check it out sometime. ☺️

I leave you with a #WaybackWednesday to my Frankenhooker cosplay...which I will hopefully be recreating for the show soon. 😉 Enjoy the found footage, Franken Fiends! 🖤

Martians Go Home gave me an anxiety attack but in a fun way🤪

I appreciate the rant so much! So spot on about country music videos in the early 90s, it’s hilarious. I would know, my dad watched TNN (as they called it) all the time in the 80s and 90s...

that joke hahhahaha Hoping for Frankenhooker soon!

Great opening rant, with an early Cracker Barrel reference! -Marty

The Cabin in Martians Go Home is giving me vibes from your guys hideaway set. Haha.

Since you've shown Basket Case and Brain Damage you need to show Frankenhooker for the Henenlotter trifecta.

My grandparents LOVED Nashville Network. They locked down during Wild Horse Saloon and Statler Brothers/Yesteryear.

Let's get stoopid!

Is Paramount Network the same as Paramount+ ? Paramount+ is all the old Viacom networks (CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, etc.).

I think it went from TNN to Spike to I think its the Paramount network now

That was hilarious - and he wasn't lying about the Nashville Network. It changed into another network at some point. I'm thinking it may have become TNT, but it was a lot of brain cells ago.

Frankenhooker is an extremely special movie to me. In college, I had a friend from work who was about 15 years older than me, but we shared the same interest in 80s movies/music. He loved how much I enjoyed cheesy/bad movies, and insisted I *had* to see Frankenhooker as it would be one of my absolute favorites. Unfortunately my friend had some issues he was never able to completely work out and he is not longer with us, but in his memory I finally got around to watching it. While I regret I couldn't share with him how much I LOVED the movie, I happily watch it from time to time and think of the good times. I'm super excited to watch this in a whole new way, now, with JB's commentary. Thank you, Darcy!

Was this the time you were telling me you were walking down Wilshire Blvd going "Wanna Date" and nobody got it. Awesome work as always my friend
