Return of the Living Dead & Jaws 2 (Air Date 5/1/99)

Happy Splatterday Night, Patreon Pals! Here’s a super classic ep I’ve been hoping to run across for a while now, and one that you‘ve requested a lot, too.

Scream Queen Extraordinaire Linnea Quigley stops by the trailer park to discuss what is probably my all time fave zombie film. He also shows Jaws 2, which is no Jaws 3D, of corpse, but I reckon it’ll do. 😉

Return of the Living Dead:

Start the ...

First segment: Before the flick.

Second segment: About 18:12 in after "Burt? Frank -- we have a little problem."

Third segment: About 33:41 in after "Don't go anywhere, OK?"

Fourth segment: About 42:27 in after "Burt, they're on the way."

Fifth segment: About 52:26 in after "I thought she was with us!"

Sixth segment: About 1:10:46 in after the group leaves the half-female torso zombie crying "brains" on the morgue table after they run off to investigate.

Last segment: After the flick.

For Jaws 2:

Start the ...

First segment: Before the flick.

Second segment: About 23 minutes in after the boat blows up.

Third segment: About 37:03 in after Brody finds the corpse in the surf.

Fourth segment: About 49:39 in after Brody and Sean are picking up the bullet casings on the beach.

Fifth segment: About 57:04 in after "Eight o'clock everybody."

Sixth segment: About 1:09:02 in after the shark POV swimming toward the boats in the distance.

Seventh segment: About 1:18:57 in after Brody hangs up the radio and looks ahead.

Eighth segment: About 1:30:03 in after "God, I'm hungry."

Ninth segment: About 1:38:38 in after "You OK kid? I thought we lost you."

Last segment: After the flick.

Wife getting to watch it for her first time was so much better with Joe Bob!

Return of the living dead is my favorite. And joe bob introduced me. 7 yes old and hiding at the other end of the house so parents didn't hear. Horror wasn't allowed until I started saying well I already saw that. Thank you joe bob for the memories

Growing up, MonsterVision was my first exposure to people like me - horror fans who took it seriously. I am so happy to be able to see these segments again.

David Solomon

I was introduced to this movie through Joe Bob (it’s one of my top favs) and got to meet Linnea this summer because of you all.

It's SOOO good!

Easily one of my defining 80s crushes!!! Great work as always, guys. :)

Not gonna lie, this is my favorite all time Joe Bob Briggs monologue. I even memorized it and used to be able to recite it verbatim

Brian Henegar

Oh wow I had that movie poster too

Peter Bernard

I had the biggest crush on Trash!

I remember I went to see Return of the Living Dead because the Cramps were on the soundtrack. I didn't expect it to be such a good movie, but it's one of the best of that era. Starring the Pathmark Man, for those of us in the NY-NJ-CT area haha

This must have been very popular because they also aired this during the day. They completely removed the cemetery dance, though lol

No that long ago, JB stated that he doesn’t include the dead in his breast count because it’s disrespectful. Hearing that undead breasts are fair game adds a layer of complexity to cinematic mammary census taking that often stirs debate and confusion among mutants.

This just shows the genius of Joe Bob's interviewing prowess. It must be difficult to keep the action moving when faced with one word answers. JBB rules, as usual.
