The college where I work used to advertise in comic books. I'd be reading Moon Knight or Spidey and BAM! I'd be hit with an ad. It was odd.

I have seen colleges and universities advertising on telly here but as far as I know it's still the good ones. Because if they're not good they lose their funding.

Lol nah. It was pretty dead when we went, unfortunately.

Speaking of porn, did you and JB witness any hedonistic activities inside the building at the Apache? Did it look like someone took a keyhole saw to booth partitions? Some of their Yelp and Google reviews read like subtle versions of old Penthouse forum letters.

Though I generally respect higher education, it is a bit of a racket. The tuition and fees are not really based on what is necessary to operate a campus and pay staff -they just charge as much as they believe the market will bear. Even when universities have multi-billion dollar endowments, the costs never come down for the students.

None of the plumbers that I’ve dealt with have had ripped, steroid enhanced physiques, salon tans, or barb wire/faux tribal tattoos around their biceps. They never engage in excited banter: “You like the way daddy wraps his Teflon tape around your pipe’s threads? How does it feel when I slap a wax ring on your toilet hole?” BTW, 2 of the adult features I worked on 19 years ago are listed in The Big Book of Porn as contemporary classics.

There does need to be more realism in the porn craft. I remember one film during my college years where, maybe it was the cynic in me, but I didn't believe for a second the lead was a licensed plumber.

Do they teach porn screenwriting because someone needs to? (from JB 😋)

I currently attend a college i learned about from pop up ads on a porn site.

A local community college around me is called Citrus in Glendora,CA. I went south of it at Mt. San Antonio in Walnut and went to Chaffey in Rancho Cucamonga after a 5 year hiatus from college. Frank Zappa went there years ago for a semester.

As someone who once worked for the for-profit career colleges who advertised during daytime tv - this is definitely true. That's the only job I quit because I couldn't look at myself in the mirror every morning.

I see 0% lie in JB's statement.
