Joe Bob’s Thought of the Day: Weather Edition

Wild weather--hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, typhoons, wind storms--are comforting to us. Because we all agree on what the rules are. Anybody zonked by the wild weather is a 100 percent victim. Anybody who helps somebody else dig out of the wild weather is a 100 percent hero. The aftermath of wild weather means we all agree that people should be helped with donations and government assistance. Nobody fights over wild weather. Nobody says "He deserved it because he bought that cheap aluminum siding" or "What did she expect? She lives in a trailer house."

Wild weather doesn't have any political parties. Wild weather creates community.

One week into DST and Axl Rose is controlling Cali weather this week. Nothing lasts forever, even…

I was just going to say I hear that a lot. Not the shithole part but the "don't they expect flooding?!?!" part. It happens to people in NJ who live in Manville also.

This!

While I want to agree, I see a lot of sentiment to us Louisiana folk that "y'all shouldnt live in that shithole, if you didnt live there this wouldnt happen".

Yup because what better community can be made than one where we all identify as "victims"

It is also my go to topic of conversation with customers as it is fairly innocuous.

That’s Mother Nature for ya!

Remember that blue shed from a few years ago during that hurricane?

I used to think storm chasers were extreme thrill seekers on the other side of nutty. Then I realized those guys are often first to respond when disaster strikes.

As a Southwest Floridian having just gone through Hurricane Ian, todays Thought of the Day was right on. Thank you. 🖤🖤🖤
